Family Life and Faith Formation Coordinator St. Joseph’s Parish, Kentville
Permanent Full-Time Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth
The Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth seeks to hire a Family Life and Faith Formation Coordinator for a permanent full-time position at the parish of St. Joseph’s Church in Kentville. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Catechetics, Sacramental Preparation, Adult Faith Formation, Marriage Preparation and Vacation Bible School. The Family Life and Faith Formation Coordinator will also be responsible for the coordination of children’s ministries (i.e. Children’s Liturgy) as well as coordinating with the Youth Minister in regards to youth involvement in the parish. This position requires the ability to recruit, train and supervise volunteers for all related programs. Traits such as excellent communication skills, budget preparation, time management, organizational skills and effective conflict resolution are essential. Education in Theology, Religious Education or other related fields would be considered an asset. Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. Valley to do a series of retreats at various parishes. We are very fortunate that they will be
at St. Joseph’s June 22 & 23
6:30-9:00pm both nights. Joe is a Christian musician from Ontario. He
works in a college chaplaincy office where he benefits from being surrounded by students
who are searching for meaning. As they share their joys and sorrows with him, his empathetic
heart overflows into his songwriting. Joe has travelled across Canada, USA, India,
Australia and New Zealand, sharing his reflective, soaring folk songs. You can listen to

A Baccalaureate Service will take place on June 26, 7 to 8:30 pm at the First Cornwallis Baptist Church. This is a joint effort by the Kentville/New Minas Council of Churches and the Canning and Area Interchurch Council. It will involve a barbeque, devotional, testimony from a past grad of Cornwallis High, KCA and/or NKEC, informal games, and a free-will offering towards the NKEC school breakfast program. REFLECTING ON THE WORD: Have you seen the bumper sticker “Christians aren’t perfect, they’re forgiven”? Jesus’ death and resurrection have opened the door to God’s forgiveness, whether our sin is great or small. Yet, we spend so much time living as if we are unforgivable. What a difference it makes to admit that we are sinners, turn to God, name our sin, and receive that mercy.

Sunday School News Children’s Liturgy at the 11am Mass. Children’s Liturgy is for children 4 years old - Grade 2 who have not yet received First Communion. This will continue until the end of June.
