Most legal ages should be raised from eighteen to twenty one because today’s eighteen year olds have too little experience of the world

Many social workers and experts agree with the fact that the twenty first century has brought a revolution in many areas, and as far as I am concerned the most important thing for them is maintaining a good behavior of the children, despite the existence of so many different cultures and believes. I think that the legal age should be raised from eighteen to twenty one, because I strongly believe in the fact that maturity comes with both ages and experience. There are numerous reasons why I hold confidence for the statement above, and I would explore only a few primary ones here.

Being at your legal age is different for different countries. For instance, in my country the legal age is eighteen and you can attain a driving license, get married and have children, have the right to vote and drink alcohol. The main problem with this, is that people who are eighteen years old are too much immature to be responsible for making decisions. For example, eighteen year old are allowed to get married and have children, but they are too occupied with clubbing and going out to even consider that. Also they are allowed to drink alcohol which I think is too early for them, and because of their lack good judgment. Another problem is that eighteen year olds can get their driving license, and often car accidents occur because of young people who want to show off, and don’t think about consequences just like many eighteen year olds do. Also there is more subtle point we must consider. Eighteen year olds have the right to vote, which I think is not okay, because they have to decide about the future of their country when they are still children.

In conclusion, I agree with the statement that the legal age should be raised from eighteen to twenty one, because with maturity comes great responsibilities, and the best achievement for the society is to build up a complete and better person.
