The pathologist says:

To discover foreign bodies (generally bullets)

3D localisation can make the PM a bit quicker 

To look for injuries in people who are still clothed

To know before you start the procedure what you are dealing with

The radiologist says:

CT is quick and gives more useful soft tissue information than plain film.

Documenting the injuries may remove the need for autopsy, very important

where cultural or religious reasons preclude autopsy.

Decomposition of the body causes problems when looking at gas distribution

We do not have enough experience to feel comfortable reporting scans

especially if required to give evidence in court!
