President’s Message

The year is flying by and the chamber continues to enjoy a fantastic year. Our strong board is doing a most effective job in guiding me, and the staff never ceases to amaze me with their enthusiasm and creativity.

I am asking you to continue all your efforts to make the area a better place. Consider running for Honorary Mayor of Riverview and support your favorite charity; if you cannot do this, please support the candidates in their efforts to support their favorite nonprofit and the chamber. Remember that the more you give, the more you will receive.

I look forward to seeing you at the next Chamber luncheon. Please come up and introduce yourself as I look forward to meeting you!

Lastly, in this Golden anniversary year, let us all strive more diligently to live the Golden Rule!

Member Spotlight Did you know that every week ECHO serves an average of 100 families facing a crisis? Often the crisis involves hunger and job loss. How can we eliminate hunger right here in Riverview?

Through educational programs such as GED tutoring, financial literacy and basic computer skill training, ECHO seeks to empower individuals to improve their current situation and transform their future. But getting a good job is vital to solving hunger. ECHO’s Job Fair last year included 27 businesses and resulted in 28 hires. ECHO has computers on-site for online applications as well as job coaches to assist applicants with resume updates and interview tips.

Greater Riverview Chamber members are invited to participate in ECHO’s Job Fair - Thursday, April 21 Contact us at 813-685-0935, www.echofl.org, or [email protected] ~Reserve your space ~ Change lives~

Trustee Members:

Thank you US HWY 301 Median SupportersThe Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) is proud to announce that the medians along US Hwy 301 between Progress Blvd/Bloomingdale Ave and Gibsonton Dr/Boyette Rd are being well cared for and maintained because of local business supporters.

Many years ago and thanks to the community spirit of Riverview, these vegetative medians were used to help beautify our roadway. Because of several dedicated folks, crape myrtle trees were planted along this stretch of the highway.

This year, this project is being revitalized with a new maintenance contract with Natural Design Landscaping and a partnership with Hillsborough County along with 6 generous businesses:

All Family Law GroupDuffey Tree Care

Frostys Air ConditioningKB Home Tampa

Serenity Meadows Memorial ParkThe Mosaic Company

These businesses have committed financially to help keep these medians well maintained over the next year. Each median will have one sign installed recognizing each of these supporters. In early summer, Hillsborough County will be replacing the missing and/or diseased trees.

Be sure to let these great community partners know how much you appreciate their part in keeping Riverview…my town beautiful. If you are interested in becoming a future sponsor of one of these medians, please contact the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce; call the office at (813) 234-5944 or email [email protected].
