Program Structure
• Meetings of the group before program to discuss course structure/assignments
• Pre-Departure Orientation to discuss:– What to Pack– Cultural Issues– Health and Safety Abroad– What to Pack– Money Matters– Italian 101
• Pre-Departure Class Session– Cover course contents unrelated to Italy
• In Italy:– Group visits sights (mainly in the morning/early afternoon) with guides– Teaching/Lectures occasionally (on bus, in café/hotel)– Write daily journal– Mid-term before departure; final exam when back home– Sufficient free time scheduled for individual/personal activities

How to Sign Up
• No academic prerequisites• Eligible: Brookdale students; community members,
students from other colleges/ universities• Submit $500 to International Center on or before
February 1, 2005– Check (made out to ”BCC International Center”), credit card
or cash– “First-come-first-served” basis– Guarantees spot on the program– Refundable only if program does not run due to low
enrollment and/or terrorist attack in Italy– Sign all forms; submit program application forms
