Welcome to the 2012 Artec Collection. For the creative process, a diversity of methodology and components is essential for creating the most dynamic possible composition. This philosophy defines our approach to developing Artec as a progressive freestyle program. Though our goal is singular, to create the most advanced freestyle snowboarding equipment on the planet, our approach is multilateral. It starts with the fusion of two primary manifestations of human endeavor, art and technology. Through this combination of these contrasting creative elements we create a context by which they are both amplified and there strength is magnified. We call the resulting dynamic which guides our creative impulse - Artec. The same approach is taken with our team. Instead of superficial commonality we look for diversity and search for that spark of individuality that excites us to work with a rider. It has nothing to do with podiums or cover shots, it is something harder to quantify, but all it takes is watching the way any member of our crew rides for us to know it is real. Our riders are the outcasts, the rejects and the weirdos who are creatively pushing snowboarding into new frontiers of terrain and performance. Their connection to one another stems from something deeper, respect for each other and love of snowboarding. Making products that deliver the performance our team needs to push their riding in creative new directions is a source of great inspiration for us.

To effectively provide riders everywhere with high performance freestyle equipment a multilateral approach again works to Artec’s advantage. The 2012 Artec collection features a diverse group of products that deliver excellent freestyle focused performance and lasting durability. From the hyper technical PopRocker to the versatile Novus, we’ve got every bit of terrain and condition out there covered. And our boards, though focused on providing advanced performance for high tech freestyle shredding, tend to have a forgiving easy riding on-snow feel, that seems to work great for riders of all ability levels. Technology and construction

Artec is committed to building the finest freestyle snowboards in the world. Located in the Austrian Alps, Artec’s state of the art manufacturing facility has been producing snowboards for over 20 years. We use only the highest quality materials and the most advanced technology in our production process and our craftsman are some of the most experienced snowboard builders in the world. The result of this combination is the ultra-high level of performance and quality that Artec snowboards are known for around the globe.

Sidewalls

MonoTec sidewallsA traditional abs sidewall with a 30 degree bevel that optimizes the transfer of energy from the binding to the edge and increases overall durability.

DiTec sidewallsA 30 degree sidewall comprised of dual density components featuring a softer dampening material in the tip and tail areas for smooth jibs and presses, and traditional abs between the inserts for durability and control.

TriTec sidewallsA 30 degree slanted sidewall constructed using two horizontal layers of traditional abs material that carry power and energy to the board’s edge, while a visco-elastic layer positioned between those two layers reduces vibrations and increases control.

Eco woodcores Artec is commited to building our woodcores in the most environmentally responsible way. We use only wood harvested in areas with strict reforestation policies to ensure that our snowboards do not contribute to the irresponsible felling of trees. Our eco woodcore production process conforms with iso 14004, one of the wourld’s highest environmental management standards.

IsoTec woodcoreConstructed using finest aspen wood and vertically laminated from tip-to-tail. Versatile and stable wood core, strong and durable.

BetaTec baseThe ultra high molecular mass of this base gives it durability and high performance in all snow conditions. DeltaTec baseDurable and easy to maintain, the high molecular mass of this base allows it to perform well in all snow conditions. 4X2 insert pattern additional inserts have been added over and above the traditional insert pattern to offer micro adjustable stance options.

Nima Jalali came up skating and bleeding on the streets of Los Angeles. With skateboarding running through his veins and a solid commitment to LA living, when Nima straps in he brings a decidedly urban approach to snowboarding. If Nima’s pro model was a skateboard then you could say we loosened up the trucks for 2012. Completely redesigned, the new Nima Jalali pro model features a FlaTec base profile which gives the Nima a perfect balance between the loose jib enhanced performance of rocker and the heightened response and pop of camber. The result is a board that delivers incredibly versatile performance with a high-tech freestyle focus. Gaps, rails, trannies, and wallrides, whether they are in the park or the streets, the Nima has the flex to lock in and the pop and stability to ollie and stomp. With his home at Mammoth Mountain and the rugged central Sierras as his back yard, Gabe Taylor’s shred skills bear the distinct influence of spending time on some of the hugest park jumps know to man, and some of the heaviest backcountry terrain in the world. Toe and heel cushion inserts As well as enhancing traction between boot and binding, the toe and heel cushion inserts are added to protect the foot against heavy impacts.

Extended highback Eva padding This offers the rider even more comfort through heelside turns and additionally prevents unwanted pressure points on the calf.

Disc padding Disc padding in the flat-bottom of the binding improves contact between the binding and boots of all sizes and prevents unnecessary foot pain, keeping the outsole 100% flat.
