TEXAS ROADHOUSE… On Monday - March 11th from 4 pm until 9 pm - enjoy a delicious meal and support
the efforts of this summer’s IMPACT. Texas Roadhouse at Hanes Mall will donate 10% of your FOOD purchase (dine in, take out or purchase of gift card) to Magnify
Ministries. All you have to do is pick up one of the IMPACT YADKIN fundraiser cards
on the table in the Narthex or mention IMPACT ’13 to your server. There is “call ahead
seating” available at (336) 768-7248.
Last month - there was a tremendous response and $ 475 was donated!
TWO WOMEN’S CONFERENCES… 9th Annual “Daughters of the King” Women’s Conference… THIS Saturday - March 2nd - Mountain View Baptist Church will host their annual ladies’ conference entitled - LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE with guest speaker - Ruth McWhite and worship leader - Pam Allen. The conference is from 8 am to 3 pm. The cost is $ 25 (at the door) which includes Breakfast, Lunch and conference materials. This conference is designed for ladies of all ages. Unspeakable Joy Conference… THIS Saturday - March 2nd - Encouragement Café Ministries and Joy FM would like to invite the ladies of our church to Pinedale Christian Church - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This one-day event is designed to encourage you in your walk and to share the love and joy of Christ with others. Speakers include Luann Prater and Suzie Eller from Proverbs 31 ministries, author - Dallas Paetzhold and artist Betty Shoopman. Worship will be led by the musical group Sisters. In this Sunday’s bulletin (Mar 3rd) you’ll be able to indicate which you plan to
bring to the meal so others can enjoy your delicious recipe.
There is NO COST for the meal, but there will be a “donation basket”
available for us to help replenish our kitchen supplies that we use for our
Wednesday suppers. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a delightful experience
around God’s Word as our Pastor leads us in our Bible study.
LENTEN WORSHIP & LUNCH… Each Wednesday at NOON through March 27th - Yadkinville UMC is hosting a
series of community Lenten worship services with a soup/sandwich luncheon served immediately following the service. There is NO charge for the meal; however there
will be the opportunity to make a monetary or canned food donation for Yadkin
Christian Ministries. Each week, different churches will provide the meal. Our
church is responsible for the luncheon on March 13th. If you are willing to help
provide soup or sandwiches, please see Jimmy.
PREPARING FOR IMPACT YADKIN… This month, we’re collecting a variety of “small tools” for this summer’s
IMPACT. Please bring PAINT BRUSHES & ROLLERS, DROP CLOTHS, SAFETY GOGGLES, TAPE MEASURES, UTILITY KNIVES and HAMMERS.

Celebrate Christ’s Resurrection - EASTER Sunday March 31st - 11 am
Have you ever wondered why so many people don’t go to church? Maybe it is because NO ONE has INVITED them. 82% say they would go to church if someone asked!
EXPLORE the CREATION MUSEUM... Our children & middle-schoolers have been using the “Answers in Genesis”
material on Wednesday nights. In May of 2007, this ministry founded by Ken Ham
opened a Creation Museum. This 70,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility brings
the pages of the Bible to life, casting its characters and animals in dynamic form and
placing them in familiar settings. There are 160 exhibits, so imagine yourself
walking through the Garden of Eden...smelling the freshly-cut timbers in the busy
work site of Noah’s Ark...dig up dinosaur bones or come face to face with T Rex.
The Special Effects Theater, complete with rumbling seats and rising mists, takes
you on a fantastic quest to find purpose and meaning to life. The digital projector
showcases a spectacular, gravity-defying spaceflight, a thrilling ride billions of light
years away to the vast outer regions of our universe.
Our tentative plans are to leave around 4 pm on Thursday (June 27th) and return
late evening on Saturday (June 29th). Tentative plans are to travel on motor coach,
enjoy 2 nights lodging and 2 days entrance to the museum. We need a minimum of
30 participants. The anticipated cost of the trip can be divided up into 3 equal
installments (March, April & May).
In order to secure the date with Yadkin Tours, we must confirm our plans by
mid-March. There are “reservation forms” on the MBC mailbox table, please fill
out the form and return it to Shannon White by Wednesday - March 6th. Once
we’ve received the minimum number to confirm our reservations (30 participants) -
more definite details will be shared with those whose reservation forms have been

COMING TO THE HISTORY CHANNEL IN MARCH… Looking for something to watch...consider The Bible miniseries. It is an epic retelling of select biblical stories from Noah to the resurrection from Emmy-winning producer - Mark Burnett and his wife - Roma Downey. The highly anticipated 5 week miniseries will air on the History Channel beginning March 3rd from 8 to 10 pm and the following four Sunday evenings - with the last episode on EASTER SUNDAY. It was a 3 1/2 year undertaking and it is the producer’s hope viewers will see the Bible come to life in a whole new way. For more information - go to http://www.bibleseries.tv.
COMPASSION PERFORMING ARTS SERIES… First Wesleyan Church in High Point sponsors a series of FOUR concerts throughout the year to positively impact
their community. The proceeds will benefit Refugee Welcome Network and House of Prayer.

Children’s Easter Egg Hunt Sunday afternoon - March 24th
The FUN begins at 4:00 pm
There will be lots for everyone to enjoy. We’ll begin by “looking for all the hidden eggs” and then hearing a familiar story that helps us understand why we celebrate EASTER!
We need BAGS of CANDY. You can begin to bring them to the church on March 20th - look for the box located in Narthex!!
Let’s SPREAD the WORD and have a “YARD FULL” of KIDS enjoying themselves at MBC!!
COME ONE...COME ALL!! Remember to mark your calendars for our first Children’s Dinner Theater on Saturday - April 20th. You will enjoy a delicious meal catered by ’Taste of Italy of spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, bread and drinks - along with some homemade desserts prepared by our folks. Tickets will go ON SALE - Sunday - March 17th and will be available through Sunday - April 14th. Seating will begin at 6 pm and the meal will be served at 6:30 pm. Immediately following dinner, you will be in for a treat as our children and middle-schoolers entertain us with a delightful variety show. You MUST have a TICKET to ATTEND. All proceeds will go for the upcoming trip to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky - June 27th through 29th. If you have any questions, please see Frances Johnson or Jason.
TO: Personnel Committee Maplewood Baptist Church It is with mixed emotions that I turn in this formal letter of resignation as the youth leader at Maplewood Baptist Church. I appreciate the opportunity to have served as the youth leader over the last several years. I am grateful for all the support I have been given by the families and church members. I pray that God will lead the right person to Maplewood to continue the youth program. This decision has been very difficult for me but after praying about it feel that this is best for me and my family. My last day will be March 31, 2013. Respectfully, Katrina Long
WORSHIP SUMMIT at MBC… Everyone seems to have an opinion about church music and the conflict that usually results is the result of “personal preference.” What is dangerous is when we assume our preferences are the same as God’s when it comes to worship. On Sunday - April 7th - Kenny Lamm will be our special guest. He seeks to help churches get on track by “setting an environment that helps people encounter the transforming power of God.” We’ll examine what the Bible says about worship & discuss it’s implications upon our corporate worship.
