Preschool/Children Christmas Night
Wednesday, December 9, 6:15-7:45 pm
The Christmas Post Office for Global Missions, sponsored by the Kittie Colvin Trail Circle, opens Sunday, November 29. This is a way for you to exchange Christmas greetings with other church members and regular attenders and to support Global
Missions at the same time.
The “post office” box is located on a table in the first floor lobby.
Write the names of the recipients on your cards and place
them in the appropriate alphabet slots.
Deposit 49¢ per card (and any additional contribution) into the container on the table, or give it to any Kittie Colvin Trail Circle member.
If you are sending cards to members who are shut-ins or who might not be here in December, please write the address on the card so we can deliver it after Christmas.
Pick up any cards addressed to you or your family. Please do not remove any cards but your own.
Do not place cards in the box after Thursday, December 24.
Please do not include cards for members who do not attend regularly or have moved away.
ALL proceeds go to the CBF Global Missions Fund.
Global Missions Christmas Post Office
ALL proceeds go to the CBF Global Missions Fund.
We are fifteen women, ages 40 to 60-something, from all walks of life, single to grandmothers, who come together to minister to each other, to our commu-nity, and out into the world. We do this with laughter and a sense of joy. During the school year, we meet the first Tuesday of each month in members’ homes at 7:00 pm.
In addition to participating in the church-wide WMU ministries, we also spon-sor a Christmas Post Office where church members and regular attenders can “mail” their Christmas cards to other members and attenders and donate the postage cost to Global Missions. We adopt a family through Albemarle Coun-ty Schools and purchase clothing for the children at Christmas. We regularly take treats, individual-serving heat-and-eat foods, and laundry supplies to the University of Virginia Hospitality House. We cook and serve dinner one night each winter when UBC hosts area homeless men for two weeks through PACEM. We sponsor a kindergarten class through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Mission in Nada, Kentucky. We provide gifts and cards to UBC shut-ins at Christmas, on their birthdays, and on other holidays.
Each February, we draw names for Secret Pals and give little treats, gifts, and surprises for each other throughout the year. During the summer, our meetings are held on Sunday evenings at area restaurants for a special girls-night-out.
