Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order 14 in terms of
11 core
competency?
1. Safety and Quality Nursing Care – Nursing has clearly
been concerned with
defining and measuring quality improvement. As one of the key
areas in nursing
care core competency, it is certain that safety and quality
nursing care
demonstrates knowledge base on the health illness status of
individual group. !t
also provides sound decision making in the care of individuals
familiesgroups
considering their beliefs and values and promotes safety and
comfort and privacy
of clients. "etting priorities in nursing care based on clients#
needs and ensuring
the continuity of care is as important as administering
medications and other
health therapeutics which utili$es in nursing process as
framework for nursing is
all shown in this core practice. %hus, patient safety is the
cornerstone of high&quality health care. 'uch work remains to
be done in evaluating the impact of
nursing care on positive quality measures.
