A beautiful quiet place to commune

with nature. Eastern side of the

Newell Highway where it crosses

A rare, high quality, remnant patch of Grassy

11 Redbank Reserve

Tall Red Gums shelter a gentle beach

Wongarbon Tank Reserve

This 30ha Reserve includes a large dam,

grasslands, woodlands and lies on the edge of

Wongarbon. It attracts a large range of birds,

and animals, offers great wildfl ower viewing

in Spring and has a formed

path for easy walking.

3 Bril Bral Reserve

Approximately 21kms south of the Dubbo

CBD on Old Dubbo Road, look for the

red and green council sign on the right

as you head away from Dubbo. Follow the

lane through the gates, then over the grid

to the river.

Pilchers Reserve

A broad shingle beach offers good

boating along a stretch of the Macquarie

River upstream of Dubbo. This reserve is

adjacent to a winery and restaurant. Follow

Old Dubbo Road, turn right at the winery

onto Angle Road, and take the next right

(graded gravel road) past the cemetery to

the River edge.

Jones Creek Reserve

A spring fed, permanent creek provides

an important oasis for animals and birds,

good walking, bird watching and spring

fl owers. Old Mendooran Road, 2kms south

of Mendooran Road and 9kms north of the

Golden Highway.

Butlers Falls Reserve

A delightful, sandy beach fronting a fast-

fl owing stretch of river, providing great

swimming, easy boat launching, BBQ’s and

toilets. Follow Old Dubbo Road, turn right

onto Angle Road, continue along Angle

Road past Pilchers Reserve and the Pioneer

Cemetery, Butlers Reserve as

signposted to the right.

Dundullimal Reserve

This riverside Reserve on the south western side of the city is the crossing point for the southern loop of the cycle path, the Tracker Riley Cycleway extends to Dundullimal from the zoo, good picnicing birdwatching and fi shing area. Dundullimal Homestead, the historic National Trust property is open to the public.

Wahroonga ParkLocated in South Dubbo this is one of

the City’s most popular parks for families

who enjoy the vast shade areas. With

free barbecues, shelters, picnic settings,

public toilets and a modern playground

with areas dedicated for juniors and

teenagers.

Elston Park

Elston Park, located off Cobra Street,

has wide expanses of manicured lawn,

garden beds, public toilets, picnic tables

with shelters and a playground. The most

striking feature is a free water park.

Sir Roden Cutler

Look out over the Macquarie River from the viewing platform, or have a barbecue along the banks of the river. There are picnic tables, shelters and public toilets. Also running through the park, is the Tracker Riley Cycleway, you can walk or cycle all the way to Taronga Western Plains Zoo.

Victoria ParkTake a step back in time with the family to enjoy a picnic in the majestic surroundings of the hundred-year-old Queen Victoria Fountain and duck pond. Relax in the beautifully treed parkland and gardens. Stroll through the rose garden and remember the sacrifi ces made at the War Memorial.

Lions Park West

Have lunch and watch the world fl oat by.

With ten free electric barbecues, there

will always be space for you to cook.

The Park also has a playground, public

toilets and a boat ramp for access to the

Macquarie River.

Sandy Beach

The home of the Dubbo Dragon Boat

Club and the Dubbo Canoe Club, its

a very popular picnicing, fi shing and

swimming area with good access to the

River. Sandy Beach is close to the city and

a beautiful quiet place to retreat to and

enjoy nature.

The Shoyoen Japanese Garden, an authentic

Japanese Garden, was designed by Kamo

Agricultural College in Minokamo (Japan)

and constructed by six professional
