Never Knew You - 11/10/19 OVERVIEW We are all living out of authentic belief. Our core values have shaped who we are and determine our choices and actions. Have we based those beliefs on biblical truth, or on what the world has taught us to accept? It’s time to take a long, hard look at what God has to say about our everyday living. What will God say when we stand before Him on the day of judgment? Scriptures (ESV except as noted): Matthew 5:31-32 (NIV), 6:14-15, 7:21-23; 1 John 4:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV); Luke 14:26 (NIV) APPLICATION How do you know if your relationship with Jesus is true and real? God’s grace in a man’s life inevitably results in obedience. Some people have defined obedience as doing religious things, but what does true obedience to Jesus as your Lord look like? We looked at several verses about the standards God has set to show us how to live our lives. Is there any area you feel like you are not living up to His standards, or where your heart is in a wrong place? Repentance is the first step in allowing Jesus to KNOW us. Then we simply walk in obedience to whatever Jesus tells us to do next, and next, and next, and next... What is your next step of obedience? HOMEWORK: This week take time to relook at all the Scriptures that were referenced in today’s message. Ask God to “create in you a clean heart and renew a right Spirit” within you. Repent of any areas where you are failing and ask God to help you change.
