The season of fasng is over, its me to feast! In honor of the fesve character of Easter, celebrate EACH Sunday for the rest of this month by sharing a fesve meal together. As much as you are able to, make each meal extra special to highlight the reason for the celebraon: Jesusresurrecon! TOGETHER.Shortly aſter the cancellaon of public Masses, parishioners were asked to voluntarily provide a photo of their family to be postedon pews so that the priest doesnt feel alonein his private celebraon of the Mass. With the request made online, we missed the opportunity to ask photos from our home- bound and unpluggedparishioners. Sll, we remember everyone in prayer and feel your presence in spirit. We miss everyone! “Were not our HEARTS BURNING within us while He spoke to us on the way … ?” Luke 24: 22 This Sunday, our Gospel reading relates the encounter of the two disciples with Jesus on the road to Emmaus. Sacred Scriptures did not tell us why exactly they were leaving town. Maybe they were on an errand or some important business to attend to. What we do know is that they were downtrodden and heartbroken for what had happened to Jesus. Thus, it is also possible that they just needed to escape. The emotional stress and fear of what happens next is taking its toll and they just needed to be away. They needed the space to process and understand what this might mean for them and their community. In a certain unique way, a lot of people must be feeling the same way just about now. This pandemic is taking its toll on the emotional, mental and spiritual well-being of many. We just want to escape it. We want to get away from this reality. We need a break. We need to journey to our own Emmaus, wherever that may be, so that we can forget for a while all the uncertainty and fear surrounding this unusual and extraordinary situation. In the middle of their journey, Jesus approaches them and the two disciples allowed Him to enter into their conversation. As a result, they were comforted by His words and teaching. Their hearts were set on fire. Jesus will do the same for us. When He approaches, we need to also let Him hang around. We need to listen to what He has to say. We need to let Him set our hearts on fire. Fr. Jonathan THANK YOU!!! We would like to acknowledge and thank our parishioners who participated in the Giving the Basicscampaign. Our donations help eliminate the hygiene gap for struggling families in the Kansas City area. JOSHUA 24:15 FAMILY CORNER “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”

Please consider this activity for your family this

month of APRIL 2020: FAST OFF, FEAST ON. The season of fasting is over, it’s time to feast! In honor of the festive character of Easter, celebrate EACH Sunday for the rest of this month by sharing a festive meal together. As much as you are able to, make each meal extra special to highlight the reason for the celebration: Jesus’ resurrection!

“TOGETHER.” Shortly after the cancellation of public Masses, parishioners were asked to voluntarily provide a photo of their family to be ‘posted’ on pews so that the priest doesn’t feel ‘alone’ in his private celebration of the Mass. With the request made online, we missed the opportunity to ask photos from our home-bound and ‘unplugged’ parishioners. Still, we remember everyone in prayer and feel your presence in spirit. We miss everyone!
