Please mark your calendars now with these dates for two mandatory rehearsals. First Communion rehearsal will be Monday, April 18th from 6-7:30pm in the Church and Confirma-tion rehearsal, with sponsor, will be on Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00-11:30am also in the Church.
There are no classes for Elementary Faith Formation this week. We will be on Winter Break until January 11th! The Catechists and I wish all of our Faith For-mation families God’s blessings in the New Year! Sacrament classes are now closed. Registration for all other classes is ongoing through the year. Catholic School students needing Sacrament Preparation need to register for second or third grade before classes resume on January 11th. The fee will be $35.00. They only need to attend the second semester.
I will be in Rome with the Pueri Cantores Choirs from December 26th through January 2nd. I plan to be back in the Office on Monday, January 4th. Please try to hold all calls until then and there will still be a week to register your Catholic School children for sacraments. As always, if you have any questions, comments or con-cerns about Elementary Faith Formation, Sacrament Preparation (Elementary, Middle or High School) or Adult Confirmation, please contact me at [email protected] or call me at the Parish Office, 480-661-9843 Ext. 309. The Official “Year of Mercy” Prayer Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman:
“If you knew the gift of God!” You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified.
You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God.
Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to cap-tives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.

FOLLOW US IN ROME!
On behalf of all the Pueri Cantores families, I would like to give a big THANK YOU to all the parishioners of St. Bernard’s for all your generosity over the past
couple years as we raised money for our trip to Rome. We raised over $90,000 and this was enough to help all the families realize their goal of making this amaz-ing trip. We couldn’t have done it without you and we hope to make you proud as we represent St. Bernard’s
and Arizona as we sing for Pope Francis on Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day at the Vatican!
We will be posting pictures and videos on our Face-Book page on Dec. 26 at Sky Harbor, throughout all events and tours and culminating with His Holiness’ Angelus address in St. Peter’s Square on Jan. 1. If you’d like to see these memories as they’re made,
simply pull up our page on Facebook: Pueri Cantores - St. Bernard of Clairvaux and “like” us and you’ll get
up-to-the-minute developments Finally, we do ask everyone for one more thing - your
prayers. The events in France and Europe over the past few weeks have weighed heavily on our families. However, we are undeterred - as I told the children recently, “Jesus
tells us do not be afraid, and will not be afraid. At the same time, Jesus also says to be alert and keep watch. We go to Rome with a joyful spirit, but also with a prayerful one as
we pray for peace with the Holy Father and New Year’s Day.”Thanks for being a part
of our amazing experience. God bless, Kent Campbell, Director of Music

Dear Parishioners, if you will be making a contribution to the parish for your Sunday tithe or for debt reduction, feel free to use the parish website. Please try to make your donations by Monday, December 28 to make sure your contribution gets credited to the 2015 calendar year. Our staff must process these donations and many would like to take time off to celebrate the holidays with their family, so we will have reduced staffing. We can’t guarantee December 31 transactions will settle in time for a 2015 tax deduction. Thank you as always for your generosity to our parish!

The Society of St. Vincent You Deserve Some Credit for Helping SVdP Help Others. The Arizona Income Tax Credit for Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations for the working poor (also known as the working poor credit) entitles you to
reduce your Arizona income tax dollar for dollar for contributions to The Society of St. Vincent
de Paul. Joint income tax filers can obtain up to $400 in reduced AZ income taxes (for single
filers the amount is $200). You do not need to itemize to obtain the credit. When you make a
cash donation to SVdP through this special appeal or in regular Church envelopes in 2015, you
will receive a letter by next February from the Vincentians of SVdP at St. Bernard of Clairvaux
Conference. This letter will serve as your receipt and verification that you have made the
contribution to enable you to complete AZ form 321 to file with your 2015 AZ Income Tax
Return.
Your Contributions Help People The Vincentians of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Conference serve persons substantially all of whom
live within the Parish boundaries. SVdP provides resources to people including helping them feed their families, obtain medicines, access transportation, avoid evictions and prevent utility
shut-offs. These resources are not just financial but referrals to other agencies that also pro-
vide help with medical, legal, financial, employment and other essentials. The Vincentians also
pray with the people in their time of need asking for God’s blessings for them and those who
support SVdP.
Other Credits The working poor credit is in addition to other credits for Arizona income tax filers. For exam-
ple, you can also claim credits for cash contributions for private school tuition and public
school extracurricular activities. Several other charitable organizations qualify as donees for
the working poor tax credit and all such contributions must be aggregated in calculating the
credit.
Making a Donation to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Please make your check payable to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul and mail it to SVdP, St.
Bernard of Clairvaux Conference, 10755 N 124th St, Scottsdale AZ 85259 along with the
