LINDEN ATHLETIC BOOSTERS CLUB ANNUAL NEWSLETTER FALL 2019-2020
President’s Message
I have always been very proud of the fundraising efforts of the Linden Athletic Boosters, but this past year has been extraordinary. With your help we were able donate approximately $120,000! Besides the increased net profit from most of our fundraisers this past year, we had an unprecedented number of donations from our community and the Hall of Fame Ceremony turned a substantial profit for the first time ever. For details on all our fundraising profit and our various donations, see the breakdown below. However, I would like to highlight a few major projects for which we are very proud: $32,000 toward the much needed sod replacement at Lion Stadium; $7,815 toward a new scoreboard & signage at the Varsity Baseball Field; $6,000 to fund a stipend for a Summer Strength and Conditioning Coach for all LHS athletes and some middle school athletes took advantage of the instruction; and $5,000 for two new cameras and network system to live stream events from Lion Stadium and the West Gym. With a network subscription provided by the National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS), mobile devices can also be set up to stream from other locations on campus. We will provide more info regarding how to subscribe and view events once the cameras are operational. We thank you for continuing to dedicate your time and money to help make this organization so successful and one of the best Athletic Boosters Clubs around! Kirstin Holtberg, President
New Cash Calendar Fundraiser

Weekly winners will receive a cash prize between $200-$250. Thus far, we have reached half of our goal to sell 200 calendars, please let us know if you are interested.

Completed, Current and Future Major Projects We worked with LUSD to research the most cost effective and resilient surface to replace the very worn and dangerous playing field at Lion Stadium. The change of Boys & Girls Soccer to the winter a few years ago added much wear and limited the time for repair between seasons. It was decided to install a hybrid Bermuda field. The total cost for the field renovation was $86,844, we contributed $32,000, Youth Football $10,000 and remaining from LUSD. The District also performed other much needed repairs at the stadium including renovating worn runways, asphalt/concrete renovation around the paths of travel, and graded and added materials to the track for better drainage and safety, totaling another $111,651. Some of the stadium work was donated by Tom Mayo Construction. While donations for the baseball scoreboard, Amerman Field signage and the NFHS live stream cameras/network have been made, we are still working with Linden Unified to install & complete those two projects. We are presently brainstorming for future major projects. Some ideas include a Track & Field records sign located at the track and to partner with LUSD for needed field repairs and renovation at various field locations.
