ガスを燃料とした二元燃料ディーゼル機関は重油焚き機関に比べCO2排出量が少ないため、EEDI規制やGHG排出削減対策に有効です。またガス燃料は硫黄分がほとんど含まれないため、SOxを大幅に削減することができます。We’re working on dual-fuel diesel engines that use gas in order to emit less CO2 than engines that use only heavy fuel. This makes them effective for EEDI regulations and GHG emission reduction measures. In addition, since gas fuel contains almost no sulfur, SOx can be significantly reduced.

SCRは、主機関から排出されたNOxを、触媒により無害な窒素分子(N2)と水(H2O)に還元する技術です。尿素水を高温下で加水分解させて得たアンモニアガスを還元剤として使用しています。 SCR is an exhaust gas treatment method in which the NOx generated in a marine diesel engine can be reduced into non-harmful nitrogen and water catalytically. Ammonia which is generated from urea water is used as a reducing agent.

A SCR system is located downstream side of turbocharger.LPSCR has the feature that allows the location of it to be flexible.
A SCR system is located near the main engine on the upstream side of the turbocharger. Since HPSCR is located at the upstream side of the turbocharger, there is the feature that allows high temperature of exhaust gas to be easily obtained.

排気再循環Exhaust GasRecirculation
EGRは、排気ガスの一部を掃気管へ再循環させる技術です。再循環させることで、掃気中の酸素が二酸化炭素へ置き換わります。これにより、ピーク燃焼温度を抑えることで、NOxが低減されます。 EGR is a method in which part of the exhaust gas is recirculated to the scavenge air receiver after a cooling and cleaning process. In this recirculation, part of the oxygen in the scavenge air is replaced by CO2 from the combustion process. Thus, it lowers the temperature peak of the combustion and therefore, reduces the formation of NOx.
•Bypass matching (EGRBP)シリンダボア70cm以下で、1台の過給機を装備した主機関向けのマッチングです。

A TierIII engine will operate in TierIII mode which complies with TierIII regulation. SCR or EGR is used in ships operating in NOx Emission Control Areas (ECA). Only low sulfur marine fuel can be used. The maximum fuel sulfur should be limited to less than 0.1%
A TierIII engine will operate in TierII mode which complies with TierII regulation SCR or EGR is not used in ships operating outside NOx Emission Control Areas (ECA). Both high sulfur marine fuel and low sulfur marine fuel can be used.

06燃料消費率と最適化の手段Specific Fuel Oil Consumption (SFOC) and Optimization Possibilities
It is possible to lower SFOC for TierII engines in the different cases of part load and low load, according to the operational pattern.
TierⅡ機関は運航パターンに応じて部分負荷又は低負荷で燃料消費率を低減することができます。

EGB(Exhaust Gas Bypass)排気バイパス
高効率・高圧力比の過給機を選定し、部分負荷での掃気圧及びシリンダ内最大爆発圧力(Pmax)を上昇させ燃料消費率を改善します。ただし、高負荷域ではPmaxが過大となることを防ぐために、排気弁の閉じるタイミングを遅らせます。このため、排気弁タイミングの調整ができるME‐C形機関のみ採用可能です。HPTでは追加機器を取り付けることなく、部分負荷における燃料消費率を最適化できるという利点があります。A turbocharger with high efficiency and high pressure ratio is selected to improve the fuel consumption rate by increasing the scavenging pressure at partial load and the maximum combustion pressure (Pmax) in the cylinder. However, in the high load range, the exhaust valve closing timing is delayed to prevent the Pmax from becoming excessive. Therefore, only ME-C type engines that can adjust exhaust valve timing can be used. HPT has the advantage of being able to optimize fuel consumption at partial loads without the need for additional equipment.

The exhaust gas bypass valve is opened at the high load in order to prevent over-speeding of the turbocharger.

機関質量は、標準過給機、標準回転勢車を装備した場合におけるものであり、モーメントコンペンセータ、チューニングホイール等といったオプション項目や設計点により、10%程度増量することがあります。TierⅢ機関の機関質量は、機関上に直接搭載されるTierⅢ技術関連部品の質量を含みます。The engine mass is the value where equipped with a standard turbocharger and a standard turning wheel. It may be increased by about 10% depending on design points and optional items such as moment compensator and turning wheel. Engine mass for Tier III engines includes the mass of Tier III technology-related components mounted directly on the engine.

2019年12月マキタ初となるTierⅢ機関6S46ME-B8.5-HPSCRが完成しました。SCRは舶用2ストローク機関では世界初となるMAN製HPSCRを採用しています。Makita’s first Tier III engine, 6S46ME-B8.5-HPSCR, was completed in December, 2019. HPSCR made by MAN was adopted. This is the world’s first MAN HPSCR for the two stroke-engine.

Starting from the top share of L35MC, the share of small bore engines is expanded with 30-46 bore engines.

MAKITA began production of electronically controlled main engines (ME engines) in 2013. At the same time, we recognized that in order to be able to safely operate and maintain this new control system reliably, it would be essential for us to further improve skills and knowledge relat-ed to these engines, and so we started offering a training course covering the ME-B engines.
2013年より、電子制御機関(ME機関)の製造を開始しました。それに伴い、新たな制御システムの安全な運用や保守を確実に行うために技能と知識をさらに向上することが必要不可欠と考え、ME-B機関の研修コースを開講しました。

Onboard Monitoring船内での状態監視
Onboard monitoring and Condition analysis will be carried out, by using sensor data which are collected from the VDR, data logger and main engine. Onboard monitoring enables abnormal detection in the early stage, and engine performance is confirmed through comparison of the present condition with the shop trial data.
主機関に装備されたセンサデータだけでなく、VDRからのデータも使用し、船内での状態監視と、陸上での性能診断を行います。船内で監視を行うことで初期段階での異常検知や良否判定を、陸上公試結果との性能比較を行うことで、現状の性能把握を行います。
Appropriate maintenance and proper overhaul procedures are the base of safe voyages. Our “maintenance movie” can help your crews study and review the maintenance procedures before starting the overhaul work.
