This week, we share with you our annual financial summary for the parish. As you may notice, we have been operating in the red— however this is partly because we have been trying to be more aggressive in paying off our debt from our mortgage. Thank you all for your continued generosity in supporting our parish home. God bless.

Fr. Grady

THIS IS MY HOME— RESERVED PARKING FOR OUR PARISH FAMILY OF THE MONTH

As a way to express our gratitude and say "thank you" to those who support our parish home, we randomly draw a new winner monthly for a prime parking spot! If you are one of the many who support our parish financially, you will have a chance to win a reserved parking spot in the front row of the lot for a month. Every family that actively gives to our parish will automatically be entered into the drawing, and one recipient will be drawn.

THE FIRE WITHIN

OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH!

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION PROGRAM

As an expression of love, the Respect Life Ministry will once again embark on a spiritual adoption program. During the month of October, we invite everyone to “spiritually adopt” a newly conceived child who is in danger of abortion. Pick up a prayer card with a pink or blue baby blanket, and pray that child to birth! Choose a single child or twins! We encourage you to name your baby and even though you will won’t meet the child in this life, you are truly praying for a specific child who needs your prayers. Watch the bulletin for the next 9 months for reports describing your baby’s development. In July 2020 we will hold a virtual baby shower and collect baby items which will be given to Informed Choices right here in Crystal Lake for mothers in need. There are millions of unborn babies desperately in need of your prayers. Won’t you please “spiritually adopt” one and share the love of life that God has given you?

We are excited to announce

2 NEW MINISTRIES beginning this Fall at St. EAS!

The first is SISTERS OF GRACE. This is a prayer and study group for women age 21 & up. SISTERS OF GRACE will meet the first Monday of every month beginning December 2. We will meet from 6:30 - 8:30PM here in the parish. Studies show that women who have 10 or more good friends are 60% more likely to survive cancer (should they get it) regardless if they are married (happily or unhappily), widowed or single! Women NEED other women in their lives. As Catholic women, we need other good and faithful Catholic women to help us grow in our faith. This sisters group will help us form those special bonds with other women in the parish, allow us to socialize over a glass of wine, share with each other, learn the faith, and come together to pray for the needs of ourselves and families. Please stop by the parish office, or call Marcie X230 to add your name to the list.

The second new program we are starting is TEAR DROPS. If you have a beloved friend or family member who is not practicing the faith or is very far from God, this is a ministry for you. This prayerful liturgy will be held twice a year and involves music, scripture, a homily, writing the names of your fallen-away loved ones on a card to be placed on the altar. We each pray for our own fallen-away loved ones, but combining our fervent prayers in community with each other is even more powerful. This is not a Mass, but a beautiful liturgy led by a priest. The first TEAR DROPS liturgy will be on Tuesday, November 20 at 7PM in the Church.

Looking for some involvement here at the parish but aren't sure what you want? Email or call me in the evangelization office to set up an appointment to talk! I would be happy to discuss your interests, talents and needs. There is something at St. EAS for everyone! Marcie Girolamo(815) 459-3033 [email protected]

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will be showing the movie “Unplanned” on Friday, November 15 at 7PM in Seton Hall. This is a story of redemption; Abby Johnson’s story – from Planned Parenthood’s Person of the Year to Pro-Life Cham-pion, and ultimately, to the Catholic Faith.

This movie is graphic and not for young viewers.

Sponsored by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Marriage Ministry and Respect Life Ministry.

SPECIAL HEALING MASS AND SERVICE

WITH FR. UBALD OF RWANDA

Fr.Ubald has been a Roman Catholic priest for over 35 years in the Cyangugu Diocese of southeastern Rwanda. During the 1994 genocide, Fr.Ubald lost over 80 members of his family and over 45,000 of his parishioners were exterminated. He escaped through the Congo on foot in the middle of the night. When he left Rwanda at that time he made a promise to his Bishop that he would return to bring healing to his people. He spent 3 months in Belgium during the genocide at which time he said that he cried every day. After a trip to Lourdes where he heard Jesus tell him “Ubald, carry your cross,” he felt a release from the burden of his sorrows and knew he was called to preach healing, forgiveness and reconciliation. Fr.Ubald has a beautiful healing gift and his focus is on healing and evangelization wherever he goes. There are

many documented cases of physical healings, spiritual healings, healings in relationships and emotional healings through his prayers. It is not uncommon for him to do a healing service in his country where 10,000-60,000 people will be in attendance.

The Government of Rwanda seeks him out for advice on forgiveness and reconciliation as the country continues to rebuild after the devastation of the genocide. He continues to preach healing, forgiveness and reconciliation in Rwanda, the Congo and Burundi. He has also traveled all over Europe, the Holy Land and other parts of Africa. He made his first trip to the United States in 2009, at the request of Immaculee’ Ilibagiza, another genocide survivor and author of “Left to Tell”, who currently resides in the US.

You won’t want to miss this special healing Mass right here in our parish!

Spread the word! Tell your family and friends about this wonderful opportunity!

Everyone needs healing—in one form or another.

PIANIST NEEDED

The Music Ministry is looking for people who would like to share their musical talent and provide piano accompaniment at a Saturday or Sunday Mass. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7PM. If you are interested please call the parish office and ask for Gayle.(815)459-3033

El Camino de Santiago–

(The Way of St. James) Sarria to Santiago, Spain — A Walking Pilgrimage

April 20-29, 2020 Walk the last 100km of the Camino Frances with fellow pilgrims from all over the world to the burial place of St. James the Apostle! On this pilgrimage, most of the planning and preparation will be done for you. You don’t need to carry a heavy backpack with all of your belongings because your luggage will be transferred to the next hotel each day. We will stay in hotels rather than albergues (hostels) that will be prearranged. Breakfasts and

dinners are already settled as well as daily Mass. There is even transportation to the next hotel if you need it for any reason.

All you need to concern yourself with is walking and making your Camino.

Walk with a friend, with a small group, or walk alone in silence. This is YOUR Camino. God willing, on the 8th day we will reach Santiago de Compostela and celebrate the Pilgrim’s Mass with hundreds of fellow pilgrims. See the World’s largest Botafumiero (Galician for “smoke expeller”/ thurible) dispense incense throughout the Cathedral and bless the pilgrims.

Optional Add- On to Fatima April 29-May 2

Arguably the most incredible Marian Apparition site. In 1917 the Queen of Heaven appears for 6 consecutive months to three uneducated children from simple farming families. These three are

entrusted with visions and prophetic warnings, as well as the means to prevent God’s wrath. Visit the sites where Mary first appeared to the children, where the Angel of Peace appeared to them the previous year, the tombs of all 3 children and more. Pray the Stations of the Cross while walking

the path to the first Marian apparition site, participate in the candlelight procession that Our Lady requested and be moved by the experience as so many can attest. We will also go to nearby Santarem and witness the bleeding host of this 13th c. Eucharistic Miracle. The message of Fatima is relevant today! Add this 3-day trip to your Camino for only $433 and make this trip absolutely unforgettable.

help clear the area of plants and brush to prepare the site. If you can lend us a hand, please call (815)459-3033 or email either Vicky [email protected] or Patti [email protected] with your name and contact phone number.

PHASE 2 Beginning in January, we will be raising the funds

to pay for the Stations.

PHASE 3 When the ground has thawed enough, we will be

installing the Stations (late Spring).

Depending on the fundraising, we are keeping our options open as to what our Stations will ultimately look like. Regardless, we believe the path will become increasingly more beautiful as landscaping is added and plants mature. It is our hope that this “prayer path” will be greatly used by everyone— supplementing our prayer lives as we all grow in the faith.
