What a special day for us at CHBC last Sunday as we celebrated our 60 th anniversary. It was a great time of fellowship. The breakfast was wonderful. The lunch was great. The decorations were beautiful. We had prayed that we would honor God with everything we did, and that was what we tried to do especially with the worship service. Dr. Patterson's message was a good and convicting reminder to guard our hearts. That our walk with Christ should not be on auto-pilot. Thank you for all your prayers. Thank you for jumping in and helping spruce up the church especially the last two months. Thank you! Outreach. We can now look forward to two big outreach events coming up. The first is our annual Fall Festival on Thursday, October 31, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Let us pray that we would be able to reach a lot of people. Let us all pitch in and help out. We need not only people who will man the booths but we also need people who will greet and visit with people especially when they sit down to eat. We also need people to sponsor the booths for $45 each. This amount will help with the cost of the whole event. Let us all pitch in! We will also be taking part in the Billy Graham outreach event in November. Some of you attended the training session and prayer time at Hillcrest three weeks ago. I will explain this more fully starting this Sunday. Join me in praying that we make wise use of the opportunities the Lord is giving us to reach people for Christ. Take part in these. Let us all pitch in! Lakan From the Pastor... What is “My Hope”? My Hope America with Billy Graham is a nationwide effort to reach

people across the United States with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Following a simple biblical mod-el, My Hope America with Billy Graham combines the impact of video programs with the power of personal relationships. Christians across America will open their homes this November to share the Gospel message with friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors using one of several new evangelis-tic programs featuring life-changing testimonies & powerful messages from Billy Graham. Here at CHBC we will be focusing on doing this outreach through our Family BodyLife Home Groups the week of November 10th.

Every year we offer this wonderful outreach opportunity free of charge to our community. In order to accomplish this, we need your help! Here are several ways that you can participate in this event: 1. Sponsor one or more game booths at $45 each. The money is used to

purchase needed supplies and to make repairs to our booths. It is also used to offset the cost of providing small prizes for the game booths as well as renting the popular large inflatables and purchasing the food we serve free of charge.

2. Bring bags of individually wrapped candy that will be used as game par-ticipation prizes.

3. Make/bring cakes, cookies, cupcakes, etc. to be used in our Cakewalk. 4. Volunteer to work one of our game booths, food stands, inflatables, etc. 5. Volunteer to come Thursday morning to help set up the festival. 6. Volunteer to come and mingle with our guests and make them feel wel-

come. 7. Volunteer to stay afterwards to help break down and put everything

away. 8. Come and invite your family and friends to attend with you! If you have any questions or would like to help in any way, please contact Philip Cross in the church office or at 277-7980.
