1. THE LENS SHALL BE FABRICATED FROM 3 mm, P4 PATTERNED,

CLEAR LEXAN WITH THE LEGEND APPLIED TO THE INSIDE SURFACE. THE LENS IS MOUNTED

WITHIN THE ALUMINUM ANGLE FRAME AND HELD IN PLACE WITH ALUMINUM CLIPS. AN INSIDE

MOUNTED, FLAT BLACK, PLASTIC LOUVER PANEL SHALL BE PROVIDED TO IMPROVE BLANKOUT

CHARACTERISTICS WHEN NOT ILLUMINATED. THE PANEL SHALL BE CLIP MOUNTED AND EASILY

REMOVED FOR LAMP REPLACEMENT. AN EXTERIOR, FLAT BLACK, ALUMINUM SHADE SCREEN

SHALL BE PROVIDED TO FULLY COVER THE FACE OF THE SIGN AND MOUNTED TO THE

HINGED LENS FRAME.

2. THE SIGN CASE SHALL BE FABRICATED FROM ALUMINUM WITH HINGED DOOR

FRAME FOR EASE IN MAINTENANCE. THE ENTIRE CASE SHALL BE PRIMED WITH CHROMATE

PRIMER AND FINISHED ON THE OUTSIDE WITH TWO (2) COATS OF HIGHWAY YELLOW

AND ON THE INSIDE WITH TWO (2) COATS OF NON -YELLOWING, WHITE, BAKED ENAMEL. THE CASE

SHALL BE SO MANUFACTURED THAT IT CAN EITHER BE MOUNTED ON TOP OR SIDE OF POLE

OR HUNG FROM A SPAN WIRE; ALL USING STANDARD TRAFFIC SIGNAL HARDWARE. FLUORESCENT

LAMPS SHALL BE SPACED APPROXIMATELY ON 76 mm CENTERS AND SHALL BE EITHER 610 mm OR 914 mm

IN LENGTH AS IT PERTAINS TO THE SIGN CASE DIMENSIONS AND SHALL BE T12-CW/HD TYPE. THE

BALLAST SHALL BE 800 MA AND A SUFFICIENT QUANTITY TO IGNITE THE LAMPS IN THE SIGN.

THERE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF EIGHT (8) FLUORESCENT LAMPS PER SIGN. SOCKETS SHALL BE

THE BY-PIN, TOMBSTONE TYPE, SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR INSTALLATION. WIRING SHALL BE

ENCASED IN ALUMINUM WIRE WAYS AND THE NECESSARY LEAD SHALL TERMINATE IN A TERMINAL

BLOCK INSTALLED INSIDE THE SIGNS. EACH SIGN SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH TWO (2) 38 mm HUBS

MOUNTED ON THE TOP OF THE SIGN.
