Activities
The Main Lodge Also known by its Dorn-given name, the “Big House”, this grand building showcases Californian redwood throughout, including its beamed cathedral ceilings. It is home to the main dining room with its impressive two-story sandstone fireplace and stained glass windows. A Billiards Room and sun porch are also highlights, as are the Dorn family heirlooms, many original furnishings, works of art and flickering candlelight from wrought-iron chandeliers.
Guests may book in to one of four elegant rooms and suites:
• Balcony Room• Redwood Room• Dorn Suite• Green Suite
CabinsThe 12 enchanting cabins are dotted across the property, and range in size from one-bedroom to suit a couple, to 4-bedrooms for big families, and even an 5-bedroom cabin for large groups of up to 16.
Vintage photographs, antique furniture and family heirlooms—think: personalized-etched glassware and a collection of books with handwritten notes—punctuate the cabins, providing an intimate look into the lives of the original owners.
• The Roost• The Hideout• The Hutch• The Loft• Guesthouse• Jill’s Cabin
• Miller Cabin• John’s Cabin• Dale’s Cabin• The Overlook• Richard’s Cabin• Clayt’s Cabin
AccommodationsOriginally designed by C.G Dorn as a private family retreat, The Lodge at Glendorn features 16 rustic-luxe accommodations—four rooms and suites in the Main Lodge, and 12 standalone cabins, each with its own charming personality, maintaining names of Dorn family members.
Fine monogrammed linens, towels and Molton Brown bath products are standard in every accommodation.
Culinary
Executive Chef Joe Schafer leads the award-winning culinary team
at The Lodge at Glendorn—the fifth prestigious Relais & Châteaux
at which he’s showcased his talent. Schafer’s inspirational menus—
re-imagined every day—are heavily influenced by classic French
techniques, with emphasis on seasonal ingredients and local products.
Made-to-order breakfast and lunch are served daily. At dinner, guests
have the choice between a four-course menu and a sophisticated
six-course degustation.
The Lodge at Glendorn’s wine cellar contains over 350 selections
curated by Executive Chef Schafer, and has consecutively received
the Wine Spectator Award since 2006.
Glendorn’s culinary garden gives new meaning to the farm-to-table
trend. Chefs tend to a wide variety of flowers, herbs and more than
60 varieties of vegetables, harvesting only the freshest organic fare
for use in Glendorn’s various dining programs.
Seasonal garden tours, private or small group cooking classes, as
well as specialty weekends with guest chefs are all highlights of the
culinary programming.
Renovations
Glendorn will benefit from a series of renovations
throughout 2016:
• The refurbishment of Dale’s Cabin;
• The Hutch Cabin will see its living room
completely refreshed;
• Plus, the restoration of the historic in-ground heated
swimming pool will open for the start of the summer
season. Glendorn’s swimming pool was the first
outdoor heated pool in Pennsylvania.
These renovations are the latest in a string of recent
improvements. The Big House dining room was refurbished
in December 2014; significant investment went into the
redesign of John’s Cabin in August 2014; and The Forest
Spa was added and opened in June 2014.

28 Clam Bake
Weekend
This year marks our 3rd annual Glendorn Clam Bake at Lake Bondieu. Our Culinary team will prepare a clam dinner in traditional New England style, paired with paella prepared over the fire at Lake Bondieu.
Labor Day Celebrations
In traditional Glendorn fashion, Labor Day will be celebrated with a Lake Bondieu buffet dinner, live music and a fireworks show.
Saturday Wagon Rides
Every Saturday in October, Glendorn hosts a cider press demonstration for guests to observe and participate. Once the apples are pressed, the cider can be enjoyed in its true form, or incorporated into one of Glendorn’s signature cocktails while riding along in our tractor-pulled wagon.
The next guest chef program, and fall and winter events, to be announced soon.
Specialty Weekends
Orvis Fly Fishing Weekend
Join us for an exciting opening weekend of the Pennsylvania trout season. All day at Bondieu Lake, learn the basics of fly casting from Glendorn's in-house IFFF certified casting instructor, Damon Newpher. Shane Appleby, Glendorn’s expert Spey caster will be teaching two-handed casting with switch and Spey rods. Always wanted to learn the difference between Spey, Scandi, Skagit and Switch? Shane will be available all day to get you started. Doug Bear, mid-Atlantic Orvis manager, will be on hand to talk about everything fly fishing, and will even showcase some of the 2016 Orvis line of rods, reels and apparel.
After you've moved through the casting areas, and caught a couple of trout at the lake, try your casting techniques on our fly casting challenge course, with prizes to be won. Late afternoon bonfire and micro-brew beer tasting will round out the day. Stay longer and float the river on Sunday. You're sure to have fun with our local experts, and walk away a better fly fisher. Leek Weekend
Guests attending Glendorn’s 3rd Annual Leek Weekend will forage for leeks with Executive Chef Joe Schafer in the beautiful Glendorn forest. Later that evening, guests will enjoy a leek inspired menu highlighting the leeks they gathered just hours before.
Memorial Day Celebrations
Celebrate Memorial Day with live music performed by acoustic guitar player Ade Adu, a traditional Glendorn buffet dinner at Lake Bondieu, and a fireworks show to cap off the evening with a bang!
Fourth of July Celebrations
What’s better for an Independence Day celebration than a buffet dinner at Lake Bondieu, with fireworks, live music and a roaring bonfire with S’mores?
Blackberry Weekend
The hills of Glendorn are covered with delectable blackberries that creatures and guests alike may enjoy. Guests will go with one of Glendorn’s Guides, who will show them where they are hidden. You then bring them back to the Lodge where they may either send them to the kitchen to be made into a delicious dessert, or be given to our spa director to incorporate in a relaxing spa treatment. Blackberry Jam is the departing gift of choice for this weekend.
The Lodge at Glendorn will be hosting special events throughout the spring and summer months
