This fun, new event will be an all-adult party outsideon the driving range. Come enjoy authentic food,

entertainment and of course a variety of beers.

$40 + tax per person ~ Call for Reservations ~ 214.821.1491Limited open seating will be available.

Cancellation Deadline: Wednesday, October 3, 2012 by 4:00pm.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEDear Members,

We survived the usual hot summer weatherand now we can enjoy the pleasant fall season.Your golf course is in excellent shape withMike Plummer and Staff once again outwittingthe heat (although the rough seems a little toohealthy in spots!).

Inside the Clubhouse, repairs are progressingwell. The replacement of the damaged roofsare substantially complete. The repairs for theBallroom, Boardroom, Main Entrance Foyerand Administrative Offices are in process andthe goal is to have them completed by mid-November in time for the Holiday season. The repair work in the Mixed Grill has beenscheduled for January in order to be able to uti-lize this area during the Holidays. It wouldhave been a tight schedule to get it completedin time for the Holidays and we did not wantto take the risk of not have it fully completedby then. As a reminder these repairs were cov-ered by insurance proceeds.

We are also in the process of refining thedesign changes for the Garden Room and adja-cent Dining Patio in order for it to be a morefunctional and inviting area for dining. Theimprovements in this area will requireShareholder approval. If approved, the cost ofthese improvements will come from cash onhand (primarily due to initiation fees andinsurance proceeds) and the constructionwould take place after the new year. Once pro-posed plans are completed the information willbe communicated to the Members.

Work continues on the Long Term PlanningCommittee’s recommendations addressing thegolf course, tennis courts, pool and parking.Right now the various projects are goingthrough architectural and engineering designin order to obtain materially accurate cost esti-mates. Once this process is completed, theBoard will bring these recommendations to theShareholders for review and approval.

Please note that the Board has approved a $25dues increase for all Membership categorieseffective October 1st. The last dues increasewas over three and a half years ago and sincethen we have expanded services (e.g. tripledthe size of the Fitness Area; added the AdultDining Deck) and incurred increased operat-ing costs (e.g. utilities, labor). This decisionwas taken only after a rigorous review of alloperations of the Club to ensure we are run-ning as efficiently as possible. In the finalanalysis we believe that this is an appropriateincrease to maintain the quality of your Club.

MANAGER’S MESSAGEAutumn…by far the most pleasant time of the year in Dallas! Take advantage of the first fallmonths on the new Driving Range, excellent Golf Course conditions, the many tennis activ-ities and of course, outstanding outdoor dining. As the Clubhouse remodeling begins to takeshape, there are some related (and unrelated) reminders to assist in maximizing your enjoy-ment of the Club.

• Valet Parking – The location of this daily service has temporarily moved to the InformalEntrance. There are several occasions in October (LWGA Member/Guest, TX/OU week-end, Lakewood Invitational), where you may want to make use of this service.

• Administrative Offices – Until approximately the third week of October, the AdministrativeOffices are temporarily located in the south end of the Ballroom. Reservations, payments, statement questions and all traditional services are all available at this location.

• On-Line Statement Payments – Monthly Member Statements are now electronically trans-mitted. Statements are accessible anytime by logging on to the gated side of the Club web-site at www.lakewoodcc.com. The website also provides an online payment option. Pleasecall Robbie Miller or Don Heckmann at 214.821.1491, should you wish to continue receiv-ing a paper statement, or any questions you may have regarding the online payment options.

• Child Minding – The service has become extremely popular, particularly on Friday andSaturday evenings. On most weekends there is a substantial wait list. As a courtesy to yourfellow Members, should you be unable to honor your reservations, please call a minimum ofthree hours in advance to cancel.

• Wi-Fi – The main Clubhouse provides a Wi-Fi signal throughout every area. The intend-ed use of this signal is primarily for recreational purposes. We kindly ask that the social areain the Men’s Locker Room, Men’s Cardroom and Men’s 19th Hole not be used extensivelyfor business purposes.

The Staff is most appreciative of your incredible generosity to the Hail Storm Fund. The fifty-five hourly employees who were at work on June 13th are the recipients of the proceeds col-lected. Thank you for your support of Chuck Keller’s idea.

The traditions of the Club’s rich golf heritage continued with some excellent golf inSeptember. Congratulations to the 2012 Ladies’ Club Champion, Kathy Crumley and theMen’s Club Champion, Neal Barfield.

As always, we are grateful for your continued support.

Ray De Tullio, CCM, General Manager

In November, note the 16th as a date not to miss a Wine Dinner. The details arebeing finalized and the venue for this event is still open, but the wine is Arista andthe wine maker is Mark McWilliams.

Mark McWilliams, born and raised in Texarkana, Texas, is the son of Al and JanisMcWilliams. He has been involved in Arista winery and vineyard operations ofSonoma County for the past 10 years.

After graduating from the University of Texas - Austin with a degree in CorporateCommunications, Mark took his first job out of college working for Kendall JacksonWine Estates. What started as a temporary summer job developed into a passion asMark enrolled in UC Davis Wine and Viticulture courses, tasting groups, andannoyed his winemaker friends with endless questions. During his time with KendallJackson, Mark held various positions encompassing vineyard operations, harvestlogistics and cellar work. Following his time at Kendall-Jackson, Mark continued hispassion for wine and pursuit of industry knowledge by working as a wine consultantfor a wine and spirits distributor based in Dallas, Texas.

In the fall of 2003, Mark married Jennifer Habecker, a native of Dallas. Shortlythereafter, Mark and Jennifer returned to Healdsburg, California to be fully involvedwith Arista. Mark manages the day-to-day operations at the winery as well as assistswith winemaking duties. The McWilliams family founded arista Winery in 2002 witha mission to create the most elegant expression of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.We are committed to sustainable farming practices and sustainable business practices.

When you read this, I will have been with Lakewood Country Club for a little overthree months. I am still in the learning process but I feel more useful every day. TheMembership at Lakewood Country Club has been very welcoming and I am mostappreciative. Please let me know, if there is anything I can do to enhance your Clubexperience. ONLINE PAYMENT SYSTEMLakewood’s new Online Payment system has required sending out month-end statementslater in the month than we have previous to implementing this system. Because we can-not close a month until all payment “requests” have been “settled”, which takes a mini-mum of three to five work days, “automatic payment requests” should be set for no earli-er than the 15th of the month, or payment problems could occur. At the time we closea given month, an e-mail will be sent out titled Statement Notice, that announces themonth has been closed. At that time, a Member can choose to make an online payment.

To see your Statement through the website1. Log onto the website www.lakewoodcc.com.2. Click on Member Statement, which appears under Quick Links.Your current Statement comes up automatically, which is the ongoing detail for thecurrent month’s transactions.

To see the prior month’s Statement1. Click on Billing Statement.2. Click Bill Pay if you would like to request an online statement.

SWING FROM THE PRO2012 Lakewood Men’s Club Championship Recap

The Club Championship weekend was certainly long and hot but it served asanother example of the way our Membership supports and enjoys competitivegolf. The fun and enthusiasm that you all show makes it worthwhile for all thework that takes place. We had a field of 104 making up seven flights. This wasthe 90th playing of the Men’s Championship and it certainly became one of themost dramatic in recent history in the Championship Flight. Neal Barfieldopened with 73-67 and after shooting even par on the front nine Monday, andparring ten and eleven, his lead was six shots. He missed a short par putt at twelvebut the lead was still six with six holes to go. We all know competitive golf is afickle thing and in a flash the landscape changed. Bob Bret holed a 35 foot birdieat thirteen to Neal’s bogey five, four shots, Bob made an easy par at fifteen toNeal’s double bogey, two shots, Bob knocks in a 20 foot birdie at sixteen to Neal’sbogey, all square! We had a great crowd following as Neal hit his six iron secondshot on the green on seventeen for an easy two putt birdie but Bob calmly got upand down from the right bunker with his eight footer to keep the tie moving toeighteen. Bob’s back nine charge fell short as he made a bogey at the last fromthe fairway bunker as Neal was hitting a great recovery onto the green from theleft trees. In the end it was Barfield 73-67-75 = 215 to Bret’s 70-75-71=216. Bobwas seeking the biggest spread for Championships in Lakewood history as his winwas 23 years ago. Congratulations to Neal for his win in his first year of LakewoodMembership.

The President’s Flight went to Bob Bret as he nearly won the whole thing. PaulNuckolls was second with 76-75-77 and Steve Kenny third, 74-79-76. The FirstFlight went to Dennis Kirkpatrick by one stroke in a close battle with ChaitainFahnestock. Second Flight went to Chris Kurzner whose steady rounds of 73-72-71 were good for a five shot win over Rex Roberts. The Third Flight came downto the wire with Ty McCall and John Pippen tying after 54 holes at 217. Ty’s parfour on number one was good for the playoff victory. Brad Walker shot an out-standing final round net 70 to come from behind and overtake Jeff Lightfoot inthe Fourth Flight. The best performance in all the net flights was in the Fifthwhere Richard Joseph went wire to wire with scores of 63-72-68 for the only subpar total in the tournament. Denny Sullivan and Mike Parker tied for second.

Congratulations to all our winners and thanks to all those who participated formaking our Club Championship such a special event.
