10 UNIQUE BUILDING

1. Dancing House - Prague, Czech Republic

The design of the building looks very modern and becomes the controversial in its time. But

Czech president, Václav Havel, really liked it and hope that this building will become the center

of cultural activities will be. The building was named “Fred and Ginger”, which is the name of

famous singers and dancers from the U.S for a glimpse of this building is similar to a pair of

dancers.

2. Kansas city public library - Missouri, United States

The library has outer walls which is different from other libraries. it had 22 back giant books on

display along 10th Street, Kansas. Not only books, but also postcards images from the 1900s.

3. Replay’s Building - Branson Mo, USA

The building with 4000 square meters is located in the shopping area in Sopot, Poland. it was

designed by the architect of Polish, named Szotynscy Zaleski, this building became the most

frequently photographed object in the Polish state.

5. Basketball Longaberber HQ Company - Newark, Ohio

The building was started from Dave Longaberger’s dream, the founder of The Longaberger

Company, to build a large office with a basket design. the idea of the owner of company that

produces wooden baskets was initially ridiculed by everyone, including architects, investors and

construction companies. however, David still realize the dream and on December 17, 1997 the

building finally stand up and it’s becomes one of the famous buildings around the world.

The Robot Building is the headquarters of United Overseas Bank (UOB) in Bangkok, Thailand.

It was built by Sumet Jumsai, the design of this building describes the computerization of

banking which is different from the concept of postmodern architecture. Finish in 1986, The

Robot Building are the last examples of modern architecture in Bangkok and invited a lot of

praise from the observers of architecture.

7. Piano House - Huainan, China

The unique building with piano-shaped is located in An Hui Province, China. On the violin there

is an escalator leading to the building and on the inside there are development plans in the

province to attract the investors.

One of the most prominent feature of this building is the main building structure that looks like

five trapezoidal piles that ended with the tower which located on the top side of the building. the

bedrooms in hotel looks like the branches of trees directly tied to the victim without the corridors

and trapeziums are the units of the bedrooms in the hotel.

9. The Astra House - Hamburg, Germany

The Astra House building is actually a brewery in Hamburg, Germany. The floors can move up

or down on it’s skinny column core. Although the unique building has been destroyed now. One

of it’s more famous beer brands was recently bought by a big refreshment corporation. And that

beer brand was called Astra.

10. Habitat 67 - Montreal, Canada

Habitat 67, or simply Habitat, is a model community and housing complex in Montreal, Canada,

designed by Israeli–Canadian architect Moshe Safdie. It was originally conceived as his

master's thesis in architecture at McGill University and then built as a pavilion for Expo 67,

the World's Fair held from April to October 1967. It is located at 2600 Avenue Pierre-Dupuy on

the Marc-Drouin Quay next to theSaint Lawrence River. Habitat 67 is widely considered an

architectural landmark and one of the most recognizable and significant buildings in both

Montreal and Canada.
