10TH INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CONGRESS OF THE DGOI

“Implantology: Technology and Medicine”

The 10th Annual International Congress of the German Society of Oral Implantology (DGOI) is dedicated to the in-

terdisciplinary cooperation of oral implantologists and dental technicians. Under the direction of Dr. Paul Weigl, a

multifaceted programme has been developed that takes a close look at clinical and laboratory aspects alike.

Master dental technicians, with their experience and knowledge, can assist dentists in achieving maximum patient

satisfaction right from the planning stage and thus contribute to the success of the dental practice. The Association

of German Dental Technicians’ Guilds (VDZI) and the DGOI have make a point of acknowledging this by entering

into their new partnership.

On Saturday, for the first time, renowned dentists and dental technicians will take their seats on the main podium

side and discuss a host of issues – from planning treatments to addressing complications. This year's Annual Con-

gress of the DGOI will mark the beginning of a long-term cooperation between the DGOI and the VDZI based on a

vision of joint and individual responsibility for quality care shared alike by oral implantologists and master dental

technicians. True to the motto: Implantology + Prosthetics = Teamplantology par excellence. For the patient’s be-

nefit.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Munich from 19 to 21 September.

“Dentists and dental technicians in dialogue”

We want you to enjoy a Congress programme that is both informative and exciting. Computer-based planning and

new techniques and materials in clinical and laboratory procedures integrate in an ever more complex manner by

way of the “virtual patient” concept and by way of a network of “real people on the treatment team”. And this treat-

ment team requires as one of its members a dental technician with top-notch expertise. Their experiences and

perspectives will be confronted with those of the implant dentists and discussed with you, the congress participants.

As an independent professional society, we ask our invited speakers to critically assess the often unknown cost/

benefit/risk ratios of new techniques – a premise that will also characterize our program on Friday, which focuses

on surgical aspects. After all, we want you to be able to implement your newly acquired knowledge in your own

setting in terms of more efficient and less risky treatment approaches.

At this point I would also like take the opportunity to thank the VDZI for its assistance in putting together this

program.
