INTRODUCTION

Romeo and Juliet – timeless tale of love and loss. There is nothing scary or stressful about Shakespeare once you learn the key to unlocking and understanding his use of language. It is actually one of my favorite things about this play – the rich and complex use of language to convey ideas. Throughout this unit, you will not only become comfortable understanding the language but also get a chance to bring Romeo and Juliet to the 21st century. For some of you, this maybe your first experience with Shakespeare and I hope it is a great one. I look forward to our exploration together!
