Welcome to InsightMaker’s Paris Bulletin, where you’ll get a glimpse of the exciting new product features we’re currently working on. Our big focus for the Paris release is developing a series of InsightMaker adoption capabilities, including a sandbox environment that will be overlaid with a guided tour of its key journeys: Insight, Manage Information, and Privacy & Compliance. We want to use these new demonstration capabilities to get InsightMaker into the hands of users, prospective customers, and partners much more easily. We’ll also be continuing our journey around DSAR by evolving the features and functionality. We’re excited about the future of InsightMaker – and we hope you are too.

Sandbox Environment (Aiimi-hosted)
Guided InsightMaker Tour
We’re developing a new sandbox environment to demonstrate the InsightMaker experience and capabilities through ‘real’ business application and scenarios, to get InsightMaker into the hands of users far more easily. Prospective customers, users, and partners will be able to log into InsightMaker and effectively enter the world of Tovicci Utilities, a mock company we’re creating for use in this interactive demo environment.
This tour will provide a guided walkthrough of the three InsightMaker user journeys: Insight, Manage Information, and Privacy & Compliance. It will layer on top of the sandbox environment, providing prospective customers with interactive guidance at their own pace. It will also be used by existing customers as a tool to onboard new users, and to enable current users to understand aspects of InsightMaker they might not already know about.

Tovicci Utilities Data Sets
Downloadable Instance of InsightMaker (PoC)
We’re curating data sets for our mock company, Tovicci Utilities, to use in our new sandbox environment and internal demo environments.
In addition to the sandbox environment, prospective customers, users, and partners will also have the option of downloading their own local instance of InsightMaker, to try out the product with some of their own data. This allows us to demonstrate not only the technology itself, but also its potential value and capabilities within the user’s own organisation. The Downloadable Instance will not crawl all of the organisation’s data repositories, but it will allow the user to upload some of their locally saved information into a folder that InsightMaker will then crawl and enrich.

We will also make the Downloadable Instance of InsightMaker (PoC) available via the Azure Marketplace, an additional channel that allows us to open up this capability to a wider audience and strengthen our partnership with Microsoft.
This feature provides another means of demonstrating InsightMaker in action. Prospective customers, users, and partners will be able to trigger an InsightMaker search of all the information on Aiimi.com.

SharePoint Integration – Search Panel (Search Results Listed Only)
Azure AD Authenticated Search End Point for SharePoint
This feature is an enhancement of existing capabilities and marks a key step in our Microsoft 365 Integration roadmap. Currently, users are able to trigger an InsightMaker search within SharePoint, but they’re redirected to InsightMaker to view the results. This new feature will enable users to view those results within SharePoint, making the process much more streamlined and providing a true enterprise search experience.

Maintaining integrity of permissions is an important part of integrating InsightMaker into SharePoint. If users will now be able to see InsightMaker search results within SharePoint (thanks to the new Search Panel feature), we need to ensure they’ll only see results that they have permission to view. This new feature will create a dedicated InsightMaker Search API for SharePoint, using Azure AD Authenticated Search to authenticate the user, so search results will only include files that they’re allowed to see.

We want to give users another way to add documents when responding to a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR), outside of InsightMaker’s existing search functionality. This new feature will allow users to upload documents to a specific DSAR, including documents not already in the existing repositories discovered by InsightMaker. This also means physical documents can be scanned and uploaded with ease.
The DSAR Analytics page will be a platform where users can view various DSAR metrics, such as DSARs received, DSARs overdue, and average completion time. It will provide DSAR team managers with key insight into how requests are being managed, to identify potential flaws in the DSAR process and understand where improvements can be made.

This page will provide a complete overview of all searches made for a specific DSAR. It will help audit the various search actions for each DSAR, making sure all relevant searches have been done and the correct search criteria has been covered.

Hiding Passwords (Security)
This feature is the next step in our strategy to optimise visibility and permissions around data. Currently, InsightMaker is permissions-trimmed, i.e. its searches respect the user access rights set in the source applications. This new feature will enable InsightMaker administrators to switch between permissioned and non-permissioned versions of InsightMaker using an on/off toggle. It will be used, for example, in instances where certain users working on security and compliance need to view all existing data, while the rest of the organisation should only see files that they have permissions on.
This feature will implement enhanced security measures in the InsightMaker administrator control hub, to prevent passwords from being passed to the front end.

Content Management Actions Move, Copy, Delete, Permissions, Metadata – Content Server
We want InsightMaker to enable users to not only search for information, but also perform actions on that information, such as deleting a file, changing its permissions, or moving it to a different location. Currently, InsightMaker can be used to discover and mark files requiring action, but the action itself has to be performed outside of InsightMaker. This new feature will enable users to perform those actions within the InsightMaker process, saving them the time and trouble of having to carry out actions manually in each system.
Content Management
This update to the source plugin for Content Server will allow Move, Copy, Delete, and other actions to be performed on any information surfaced in InsightMaker from a Content Server repository.

Search Suggestions
We’re using insights on recently used or accessed documents to provide a more intelligent search experience in InsightMaker. This new feature will present users with their recent documents and favourites on the homepage, as well as their team’s recent documents, providing quick and easy access to recently used information.
Recommendations
This new autocomplete function will provide ‘search-as-you-type’ suggestions during an InsightMaker search, using built-in Elastic features.

User Defined Boosting

This is an update to the optional User Defined Boosting feature, based on user testing and feedback. Currently, when users log into InsightMaker for the first time, they’re able to select file types that are the most interesting to them and opt to have these prioritised in searches. This new update will give users the ability to save those boosting preferences and confirm that they have been saved.
