Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time

IS GOD CALLING YOU? If you are a young man between the age of 18-30, who loves God and desires to be a shepherd among His people…consider St. John’s Seminary, Boston, MA or if you are between the age of 30 to 60, consider Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary, in Weston, MA. . Come, learn, and live the priestly life at either St. John’s Seminary or Pope St. John XXIII. For information about the St. John’s Seminary please visit our website at www.sjs.edu or call Fr. Dan Hennessey, Vocation Dir. at 617.746.5949. For Pope St. John XXIII, visit www.psjs.edu or call Ken Watts at 781.899.5500 or [email protected] call Fr. Scout at the Parish Office.

WW Welcome! We are glad you are here to join us in worship in the celebration of the Eucharist (Mass). At

the Eucharist, the Church comes together to hear the Word of the Lord, to pray for the world's needs, to

offer the sacrifice of the Cross in praise and thanks to God, to receive Christ Jesus in communion, and then

to be sent forth in the Spirit as disciples of the Gospel. If you are not familiar with the Mass, the Order of the Mass can

be found on pages 3-29 of the Breaking Bread hymnal. We call particular attention to the text of the Gloria and the

Nicene Creed located on the inside cover. The scripture (Bible) readings for today's Mass can be found on pages 229.

November 3, 2019

Inspiring Hope at Holy Family Parish continues to gain momentum as we reach out to all families in a special call to stewardship. Already, more than

$230,000 has been pledged to this campaign, which will support will help Holy Family by allowing us to improve our campus in three ways: Safety and Accessibility

The parish has members who are unable to participate in the Mass and activities because there are no restrooms for them to use in the church. To be truly welcoming and attentive to the needs of all parishioners, we must address this pressing need.

Comfort and Efficiency The church’s boiler, which has outlasted its intended lifespan, had a major breakdown last winter which necessitated us to close the church for several weeks. Installing a new, more energy-efficient boiler that is separate from the parish hall should also result in major cost savings moving forward.

Stewardship and Hospitality The parish hall recently had its roof replaced, which has stopped the leaks. We can now begin to think of how best to upgrade and modernize the building, which is in constant use by the parish and community. Even the smallest improvements could enhance the experience and make the hall more attractive for functions.

As we build up our church locally, we are also committed to sharing a portion of our blessings to help support strengthening parishes in Eastern Massachusetts. After careful consideration, we have chosen to commit a small portion of our campaign’s total towards an initiative that is importation to the future of our faith: building faith for our future through evangelization. The Parish Evangelization Fund will be an endowment that supports parishes in their outreach efforts for many years to come and will be available in perpetuity for Holy Family parish and others to benefit from in times of need and growth. Together with all the parishes in Eastern Massachusetts, we are looking ahead and building resources for our bright future. On the weekend of November 16 & 17 we will be asking every family to make a decision about their support of this most important project.

In The Time Between by John van de Laar

© 2006 Sacredise In the time between the passing of what was And the birth of what will be We find ourselves uncertain - a little lost We grieve what has gone, and we do not know what will replace it. It is a waiting time, a hopeful time And the on thing we can hold on to is this: You were there with what was You will be with what waits to be born And You are here, in the in-between-time. And so we wait, we hope and we worship. Amen
