RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A BID TO S. BROTHERS, INC.
FOR
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS TO WILBURTHA ROAD
Resolution #10R- WHEREAS, Wilburtha Road is in need of
reconstruction, resurfacing andother safety improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Township conducted a bidding process for the
reconstruction and resurfacingof Wilburtha Road as set forth in the
Specifications and Bid Documents dated September 22,2010 prepared
by Banc3, Inc., pursuant the bidding provisions as set forth by the
Local PublicContracts Law N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received and reviewed by the
Township Attorney,Township Engineer and Township Business
Administrator:
S. Brothers, Inc. $ 127,089.25Arawak Paving Company, Inc. $
127,500.00
Top Line Construction Corp. $ 128,252.05DeSantis Construction,
Inc. $ 132,072.00, and
WHEREAS, the Township Attorney and Township Engineer reviewed
the bids and determinedthat the low bid of S. Brothers, Inc. in the
amount of $127,089.25 was responsive, and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid project is being funded by the Delaware
River Joint Toll BridgeCommission Compact Authorized Investment
program and the award of the Contract is subjectto approval by the
Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has provided a
Certification of Funds;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the
Township ofEwing that it hereby accepts the lowest responsive bid
of S. Brothers, Inc. in the amount of$127,089.25 for the
reconstruction and resurfacing of Wilburtha Road as set forth in
theSpecifications and Bid Documents dated September 22, 2010
prepared by Banc3, Inc., and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the award of the Contract is subject
to approval by theDelaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and appropriate officials
are hereby authorizedto execute a contract consistent with the
terms and conditions of the aforesaid bid in a formsubstantially
similar to that annexed hereto.
