EYP PAPER TEARING ACTIVITY -NURSERY

A s the nursery learners are inquiring into the central idea “We understand more about ourselves every day”. ‘Under the theme ‘: Who we are’, they were engaged in activity called “Tearing Paper”. Learners tear the coloured paper into small pieces. A paper cut out of a boy and a girl were made by the teacher. Learners stuck these small pieces of coloured paper on these cut outs. The act of tearing encourages fine motor and eye- hand co-ordination skills. Tearing paper also helps learner to enhance the grip on the paper with the fingers, increases the hand strength. In order to tear paper, learners will learn to hold the paper between the thumb and pointer finger of each hand. Learners then have to move each hand in a different direction. This makes for good hand and finger exercise for every learner. Tearing Paper is simple yet extremely fun activity for learners as it keeps them engaged and entertained where the development of their finger musclestakes place.

EYP I n preschool, math learning is all about counting, number recognition, and one-to-one correspondence. As learning about numbers is a preschooler’s first step towards becoming a budding young mathematician, the students of K1A took part in a Number Value activity. To help make learning the basics of mathematical thinking fun activities were planned, rhymes and stories were used to reinforce the concept of Number Value that made learning interactive and engaging for the kids. Learners thoroughly enjoyed participating in this

fun Number Value game. K1

EYP I traced lines and shapes in the sand,

With the tiny fingers of my hand.

I traced numbers and letters,

With each stroke getting better.

K1- SAND TRACING

P re-writing skills are important for the preschool

age for developing the control and writing grip as

they’re learning letters and numbers. The students of

K1A and K1B indulged in a fun activity where they

traced straight and curved line patterns, letters,

numbers, shapes, etc. in the sand tray. This fun

activity was great for our kids to learn to hold a pencil

correctly, enhance their fine motor skills and begin to

develop more control over their strokes as well.

EYP CREATIVITY WITH NUMERACY BLOCKS

K 1B learners were exploring the Numeracy centre when they came up with several creative and

imaginative ideas. They made colourful and different flavour Popsicles, a Castle and a Fort, a Rocket and

Space Shuttle, etc. using the numeracy beads and toys. It was amazing to see how our little wonders

came up with these wonderful ideas all by themselves and it was a sight to behold to watch them work

as a team.

DOT PAINTING

“Every child is an artist”. ...Pablo Picasso C reating art expands a child's ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child's development. Children express themselves through art on a fundamental level. Sometimes their artwork is the manifestation of that expression, but more often, the physical process of creating is the expression. Creating art allows children to work through feelings and emotions, and referring to a finished piece of artwork helps a child talk about feelings in a new and meaningful way. Art also develops a child’s creativity. Rather than being told what to do, answers and directions come from the child. Art is an experience that requires freethinking, experimentation, and analysis — all part of creativity. K2 learners enjoyed creating a dot painting. They used different colors to make their art work very attractive. They made a “TREE OF LIFE” to express their love and care towards all the communities around them as they are inquiring in to the central idea “People different roles in the communities to which they belong” under the theme “Who we are”.

EYP NUMERACY

N UMBER SENSE-Children need opportunities to learn and experience numbers. Learning to count, identify numbers, and understand quantity are a few of the important concepts. Repeated experiences build understanding and fluency with numbers. These experiences help expand understanding and learn new concepts. A strong number sense is vital for future understanding of more complex math topics. It is very important to count with children every day. Repeated oral counting helps them hear what numbers sound like, look like and to learn their order. Here the K2-B learners used their creative mind to use the Janmashtami flute as pointers to do oral counting – counting forward & backward. K2-B learners are also seen doing number value by using pebbles which they did with full enthusiasm.

PYP Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit.

-Jawaharlal Nehru

T o open windows into fascinating cultures of the world PYP gives children multitude of opportunities to understand the different customs and traditions and embrace diversity. They are encouraged to talk about their world through stories, class discussions and celebrations to understand and appreciate cultural similarities and differences.

On 29th August 2019 a musical performance was held in the school auditorium by Indonesian artists. Thereafter the students were introduced to Angklung musical instrument followed by an interactive session by Saung Udjo where they were given the instrument and learned how to play it. Students also listened to a variety of musical pieces performed together.

It was an excellent presentation of Angklung music and children were delighted to explore the iconic Indonesian musical instrument. This event was attended by the consul general of Indonesia and it was a great opportunity to strengthen our ties with our neighbouring country.

As an IB World School we regard international-mindedness as a key constituent of the overall development of children. Such internationally focused activities help to create a spark of wonder and curiosity in children about the world around us and develop their international mindedness.

MYP DSO REFLECTION

Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it

may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" and "doubles".

Recently, I went to play a tournament and took part in DSO for Badminton. DSO ( District Sports

Office) under the Directorate of Sports ,Ministry Of Youth Affairs and Sports and is mandated to

organizes Taluka, District and State Level Competitions for Boys & Girls from Secondary and

Higher Secondary Schools in various sports disciplines in the age groups of U14, U17, U19 every

year. Here, I was in the Under 14 group and I played singles. The tournament took place at the

Goregaon Sports Club. The match consisted of one game of 15 points. Although I lost the match, I

learnt a lot. I discovered different techniques that I am sure will help me in the future. Additionally, I

developed my skills through this game. This was an enriching experience.

MYP Dear ma’am/sir, First of all a very happy teacher’s Day. The following is a sonnet That I ave written especially for you:

Myself, I am just a part,

Of a newly baked loaf bread.

You cut this loaf with your Heart,

An you helped me move ahead.

After I was cut, completely free,

You used the toaster to make me, like me.

After that I was a better, more intelligent with glee,

And was waiting for the butter, jam and ghee.

I, now will all toppings,

Knowledge, education and other good things.

Me, now completely toasted,

A diamond the you hosted.

Now, I am completely ready for the world,

Because teacher, I am the milk you stirred.

MYP/DP PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019

T he CPD committee was skilfully chaired by Vishesh Sharma and co-chaired by Manav Sanghvi. Under their watchful eyee, students from Grades 6 and 7 blossomed into bold speakers who rose to the challenge and attacked the agenda of “Realising SDG 3 by ensuring access to essential healthcare services and education”. Issues such as climate change, funding, global warming, population rise, availability of primary education and equality were discussed. Thereafter, a 2v2 battle took place between the delegates of

USA and India against the delegates of China and Mexico. This led to another challenge round of a 1 on 1 debate between the delegate of the USA and the delegate of Brazil wherein the delegate of Brazil was an experienced guest delegate and the chair of CPD. The humorous yet productive debate introduced the entire committee to their first crisis regarding the Amazon fire caused in Brazil. The second day in the committee of CPD began by following up on yesterday’s crisis leading to a presidential statement made by the

delegate of the USA, taking full responsibility for starting the Amazon Forest Fire. He was proven guilty as they knew about the fire approaching through their satellites but still did not care to do anything about it. The President stated, “I, the Head of State of the United States of America openly confess that I knew about the Forest Fire in the Amazon Forest and I will do everything in return in my power to reverse the damage. This included rescuing of people and animals and replantation of the Amazon Forest. I also confess that I did this act on purpose”. The next session began with formal line-by-line amendments on the two working papers (first draft resolution). The first working papers was proposed by the USA, Denmark, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. The second working paper was proposed by China, France, Mexico, Italy and Austria. The committee then broke into an unmoderated caucus to discuss the strengths, weaknesses and further improvements required in the working papers. Lastly, the delegates were able to come up with a resolution which passed by 100% votes. -KHUSHI PARIKH & NITIKA NARAYAN DP 1

MYP/DP PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019

“When we started the proceedings, I was expecting a really non-informed committee session as all the delegates were first timers and 6th to 8th graders but what I saw exceeded my expectations. They had all researched very well and just needed a push to overcome their fear of speaking in public. A lot of good motions had been raised in the sessions and a presidential statement had also been passed which was quite surprising for me to see in a junior committee. They have also adapted really well to the crisis and to conclude it was a great delight to chair this committee.” VISHESH SHARMA, CHAIR -CPD

“The committee was working at a really quick pace and had been extremely efficient and productive throughout. It took me aback to see challenge rounds such as 1on1 and 2v2’s in a junior committee. Although, I never thought that this committee could come up with a resolution. Instead I thought after the end of the second session that this committee is going to fail because the delegates were so scared of opening up, speaking to each other and raising their placards. But it gives me immense pleasure to say that these junior delegates have improved so much than what they were at the start of the committee and they have come a long way from where they had started. I am happy to see that they have not only improved as delegates but have also become great friends. So overall, it was a great experience to chair this committee."

PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019 One among the junior delegate committees, the Economic and Social Council or ECOSOC, chaired by Nakshatra Dharap and the ever-approachable Nishtha Das, catered to delegates from Grades 6 and 7. The progression of sessions was energetic and enthusiastic right from the beginning till the very end. The agenda was “Harnessing new technologies to achieve Sustainable Development Goals”. The first crisis introduced in committee, following several GSLs and a moderate caucus, stated that President Donald Trump, had claimed the phenomenon of Climate Change to be a hoax and that China had used this as motive in order to manufacture and export their products on an exponential scale. This crisis initiated a 2v2 debate between the delegates of USA, China and their respective allies. The delegates were also introduced to a second crisis on the first day, nearing its conclusion. The Presidency of the USA had now been handed over to Hillary Clinton, and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia had disclosed that the Russian Federation had deployed spies who knew about the Amazonian wildfires since the very beginning. The USA, under the Presidency of Clinton, pleads back into the Paris Agreement, and the decision of the same was up to the delegation of France. The committee was dissolved for the day after the introduction of the second crisis, providing the delegates with some time for preparation. The second day of RMUN was as engaging as the first: the delegates tackled an enlightening GSL discussion, followed by a strong 2v2 debate on the second crisis between the delegations of USA, Russia and their respective allies. The debate was followed by several discussions based on the working paper, in an immoderate caucus. The rest of the committee session was utilized to formulate excellent working papers and arguments for the same, as expressed by their respective authors. The committee sessions ended with a formal voting procedure and several discussions on the working papers. The participation of the delegates in ECOSOC was absolutely commendable. The delegates put forward strongly influential claims and had equally strong competition in the form of rebuttal by their fellow delegations. Overall, according to the Executive Body, the committee was phenomenal and awe-inspiring. The delegates, although possessing lesser experience, performed exceptionally and with utmost confidence. PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019

The research of the delegates was beyond expectations, seeing as most of the delegates were participating in an MUN for the very first time. The council room was not enough to contain the enthusiasm of the delegates. Overall, it was a very energetic and intellectual committee and the delegates were all well-versed with the proceedings of an MUN.

Nakshatra Dharap, Chair of ECOSOC

The delegates of ECOSOC were, in my opinion, the most enthusiastic and well-researched. The extent of their research was not bound just to their own countries, as they could easily conduct a background check on the research of other delegates as they were speaking about a particular motion. The amount of amendment slips used was extensively high and the entire experience was overwhelming as a member of the Executive Board, especially for a committee with junior delegates.

PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019 This committee was adroitly chaired and co-chaired by intellectual yet exceptionally loquacious duo - Manav Gandhi and Varun Badrinarayan. Fuelled by their passion and unwavering support, the delegates of this committee went above and beyond tackling the fine-spun dispute of the Doklam Border. The delegates of Israel, Bangladesh, USA, Vietnam and South Korea made clear how untrustworthy they found their obstinate opponent with stinging comments like “China is known for entering its neighbouring countries and trying to seize them.'' or “Is China trying to gobble up everything?”. The delegate of China went on to retort by stating that “China made the physical appearance first, so it is theirs” - China’s side continuing by contorting and saying, “India if you want to play get out of our house”. The motion for GSL was then suspended and the delegates moved into a moderated caucus discussing the effects of the Doklam standoff on the development of Asian countries. India and China battled it out and threats flew as India threatened China by saying they wouldn’t fund any damage done to China’s “Illegitimate project” and China countered by saying that “India sent in their troops first. How can you ask us to move while you’re trespassing on our land?”. Pakistan added fuel to the fire as they stated that “Pakistan won’t hesitate to go to war”. After this a motion for a moderated caucus was raised to discuss the intimidation experienced by smaller nations in Asia due to China’s building of the CPAC. Delegates began to switch sides as they were diffident about previous decisions. Germany stood by its decision to provide military support to Asian countries in the event that China showed unprovoked aggression. Suddenly, Germany changed its stance on the matter and chose to support India. They assumed China is trying to neo- colonise Asia. After further instigation from India, Pakistan revealed that China is, in fact, ready for war. France wittily countered by saying “What about Kashmir? Aren’t you trespassing there too?”. Pakistan bit back and responded by saying “Does India think Kashmir solely belongs to them?”.

Following the same, a 2 v 2 took place between the delegates of India and South Korea as they go against China and Pakistan. Controversial statements were thrown about as these delegates clawed at each other, ready to do anything for justice. After a short recess the delegates end the day by discussing the economic ramifications of potential war a motion raised by the delegate of Serbia. Two joint statements were given by the delegates of India and Russia along with the delegates of China and Pakistan. While India and Russia’s joint statement stated that they did not wish for war, but if provoked, would not back down. China and Pakistan reaffirmed the same. China went

to say, “There won’t be a war if the great nation of India withdraws their troops; Ending it on an ominous note saying, “Let me tell you delegates one does not want to provoke China and Pakistan”. With the second day arose World War 3 as the committee was put up against another herculean task - their first crisis. An update was given, that stated that India has killed 53 Chinese civilians working near the border. China stood strong providing this statement - “Under no circumstances will China make their territorial sovereignty a land for exchange”, proceeding to call India out for their “non-peaceful actions”.

PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019 Terror struck the committee once again as Russia went on to target Pakistan by blaming them for an explosion in Russia. The delegates were forced to think on their feet as they were stunned with another crisis update: “India invades China through the Doklam area with French and American support and bombs Russia in defence of Turkmenistan with Israeli support”. Furthermore, a nuclear reactor accidentally detonated in Moscow, causing irreparable damages and the death of Vladimir Putin. The delegate of Russia then stated that Russia wishes to turn communist again and support with China. In a stunning turn of events, China revealed that they sent spies to the USA in 1962 and have discovered that the USA wants nuclear war. These spies assassinated Donald Trump and it has also been discovered that Phebe Novakovic, the CEO of General Dynamics, the largest Military supplier in the USA, has admitted being a double agent and has been giving the USA information.

DPRK openly began preparing for war and have started testing missiles. The delegate of Saudi Arabia accused the delegate of Russia, Pavel Nikolayevich Grudinin, worked with India to bomb Moscow and assassinate Vladimir Putin so that he could become president. Grudinin simply smiled and said “Yes”. Russia then began to support India once again. Shockingly, India carried through with their invasion and began to bomb Islamabad as all Pakistani states were freed. The Pakistani army was destroyed and through genocide, took over Sri Lanka. South Korea and Japan invaded DPRK as The INS Vikrant created a naval blockade on the Korean peninsula to defend from other countries. France and Germany astonishingly became one country and occupy the whole of Europe except Turkey, Spain, Italy, Poland, Greece, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Sweden. These countries began to fight back against

France as Europe became designated war zone - ostracized from the rest of the world. Russia is now controlled by Valery Gerasimov - a Russian general appointed by the late Vladimir Putin. Seeking revenge for his former employer, Gerasimov jailed Pavel Nikolayevich Grudinin. An attempt to poison Pavel was also made, but MI6 agents secretly freed him from jail and transported him to Bavaria. In the meanwhile, Pakistan backed out from all the war efforts while Myanmar, Afghanistan and Bangladesh attempted to attack North India. After a series of arguments and debates, Europe was finally declared undisputed territory as New World Order had been established and all country borders will in turn change. All military forces receded, and peace had been restored. This marks the end of the crisis. Resolution discussions started taking place; as India and his allies explained their resolution with an unshakeable air of confidence even ending their resolution by saying they “don’t want to solve this the China way”. On the contrary, their spiteful opponents made sure the failure of this resolution was immediate as they found faults and staked claims that India was unable to fulfil. This resolution however did fail, along with China’s resolution. The disheartened delegates made their way out, only to find themselves awarded for their hard work. Mollified at the fact that their chairs were pleased with their never-ending gusto and ebullience, our delegates go home with a mouth splitting grin, preparing for the next year of fun-filled elocution and factual debates.

PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019 A word from the Chair–

“Chairing at RMUN was indeed fantastic but very memorable as well. A talented and dedicated Executive Board, Press and Admin team made the event flow seamless and dynamic. As for the delegates, they showcased great proficiency with their debate skills and asked great, insightful questions. This high quality of debate was accompanied by flawless and detailed paperwork, making RMUN an amazing and wholesome chairing experience.” -Manav Gandhi, Chair of UNGA

A word from the Co – chair –

“It was a delightful and unforgettable experience, co-chairing at RMUN 2019. Committee

proceedings might have started off a tad bit slow, but quickly, it was filled with delegates arguing passionately and vivaciously, raising motions to unsettle the opposition and making bold speeches and statements to assert their position. This committee’s crisis was by far one of the most enthralling in my history at MUN’s, with delegates battling it out on the war field and helping their allies in strategic decisions. Despite the resolution not passing in the end, the delegates were nevertheless the true winners, showing their true colours over the course of all committee sessions, and making this one of my favourite MUN’s ever. –

DISEC

One of the most dynamic committees in the United Nations, the DISEC commenced after an

enthusiastic opening ceremony with the official agenda of identification and disruption of terrorist

funding network. Directly after the Executive Board (consisting of the chair and Director General,

Siddhanta Sarna, as well as co-chairs Pratham Shah and Ansh Gujral) completed roll call, the General

Speakers’ List followed by an unmoderated caucus to discuss a few topics and lobby. Immediately

after, Iraq raised a motion to discuss the invasion of US in other terrorist countries and formation of

terrorist groups which passed with an overwhelming amount of support. The motion results in the

delegate of Syria to deny the “use of POF chemical weapons in Damascus and believe that the US led

coalition has performed a lot of war crimes … We will legitimately work on eradicating terrorism ...”.

The delegate of the USA responded with “are these the same legitimate things that you do to your

people?” causing commotion within committee. An important crisis was later introduced in the second

session in the form of a video which proved that the Russian President Vladimir Putin met Al Baghdadi

and the ISIS head in order to secretly make plans. The information eventually led numerous delegates

to reconsider their alliances and some decided to support the USA. A motion to move into a

moderated caucus and to discuss the crisis was raised and passed. Immediately after the moderated

caucus, a guest delegate, the delegate of Daesh entered committee in order to inform the delegates of

some shocking updates as a speech, possibly becoming one of the most hilarious parts of DISEC

2019.The delegate confirmed Putin’s meeting with Al Baghdadi, which further reinforced the gravity of

the situation and relationships between many nations. Following a heated conversation regarding this

message, the delegate of the USA sent a declaration to the Executive Board which stated that the

President of the United States is no longer alive and a few people in line have been found dead as

well, leaving the Secretary of State to claim presidency.

23

PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019 Another point of information was presented by the Executive Board which mentioned that the

“Eastern Syrian city of Mayadin and Islamic state supported by Abu Hamza Al Mariah said

militants had set up checkpoints in the last few months, demanding money from cars and trucks.

The money reportedly went into a zakat or alms fund, but Abu Hamza admitted some sums go to

pay bonuses or salaries of fighters.” The first day ended on this note and the first session on the

second day began with many controversial GSL’s revolving around this new information. One of

the delegates argued that they “ain’t funded shit” but still asserted that Nigeria and other

countries were responsible for financially supporting numerous terrorist groups. During these

heightened allegations, the mood was revived when the Delegate of Bangladesh was accused of

stealing the chocolates from the Executive Board and the committee was able to share a good

laugh. Yet, the update that came next restored the previous sense of seriousness in the room as

it outlined that “a document leaked by an unknown source contained reports from the CIA that

provided sufficient proof for the USA's involvement in a bombing of the Iranian Embassy in

Moscow.” To make matters worse, the Executive Board announced that the USA was facing a

major recession, leading it to become even more difficult. It became an obvious turning point,

because many delegates decided to act upon this information and mended their behaviour

towards the USA. For example, the Delegate of Israel issued a press release which declared that

it would “break off all alliances from the United States due to their terrorist actions and it is to

remain neutral towards both sides but still stay an advocate for anti-terrorism until further

evidence.” Not only Israel, but other delegates, especially Iran, which was a nation directly

affected by this update, encouraged other to break ties with the USA for their own safety since

the delegate believed that the USA would readily backstab anyone due to their “pettiness.”

Especially after such intense decisions, the committee could not have predicted the fact that

China chose to support the USA and defended it as well during a highly controversial joint

presidential statement. The Executive Board did intervene at this point and revise certain facts as

the situation was getting quite out of hand, but the committee then quickly proceeded to an

unmoderated caucus to work on two working papers – one by the P5 nations and one by Mexico

and Brazil. Whilst both these papers failed due to an increasing number of unfriendly

amendments, DISEC at RMUN 2019 was one of the most intense, intelligent and impressive

committees that argued, discussed and embodied diplomacy like no other.

A word from the Chair –

” DISEC has been a rather intense but an exciting committee! This has been one of the best committees that I have ever chaired. I was extremely glad to see that each and every delegate was so well prepared and actively participated in the debate. Introducing crisis situations took the committee debate to a whole new level. Although the committee had a few first timers, they surprised the committee and did extremely well. Even though the committee has 3 crisis and both resolutions failed, the delegates were able to handle this and we had extremely fruitful debate. I do look forward to working with these set of delegates once again! Thank you!”

PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019

A word from the Co - chair –

” DISEC is a committee that almost always fails, and it was no different this time. The delegates almost ended the world, started a recession, and placed sanctions on Russia, especially on potatoes. However, DISEC this year was also a committee full of prosperous debate, witty remarks, and brilliant

depictions of oration from the most unexpected sources.”

- Pratham Shah, Co – chair of DISEC

MEMORABLE QUOTES ““Okay, first of all, that doesn’t make any sense.

“Do you have short term memory loss?!”

“We will build another wall.”

“The delegate believes that bombing an embassy in one of the cheapest ways to show enmity.”

“Screw your vodka you day-drinking hypocrites”

“So is the Brexit happening?”

“The act done by the United States of terrorists … my mistake … the United States of America …”

PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019 This ever-roaring committee was chaired by the Sec. General Dhrruv Dedhia and co-chaired by the

head of delegate affairs, Prisha Sheth, and the ever-inquisitive Anusha Jacobs. The agenda was to

“address Yemen’s Humanitarian Crisis”. The committee initially started off with the General

Speakers’ List and in no time, moved into the motion of discussing Houthi threats and damage to

Yemen. After the first motion, it was very clear that the committee noted the severity of the situation

and every delegate knew their country’s stance perfectly. By the chairs’ discretion, the motion to

“discuss the problems faced by the women and girls in Yemen” was in order. Throughout the

sessions, the conclusive delegates prioritized the safety, security and soundness of the

Yemenis. Shortly after, the first crisis was introduced and proceeded to shock the entire committee.

The crisis was “UN seized the arms being sent to the Houthi government through Iran by Russia”.

Fiery debate ensued as the delegate of UAE grabbed the perfect opportunity and called the Russians

“nothing but a two-faced itch!”. Followed by the delegate of the USA who claimed that “Russia is

neither sane not respectable”. Deftly dodging this crisis, the delegate of Russia handled the crisis

with intricately crafted responses. The chair and co-chairs decided to push the delegates beyond

their limits and introduced a second crisis on the same day. This crisis, in the form of a presidential

statement by President Donald Trump, declared that the Congress did not want the USA to intervene

in the Saudi led coalition anymore due to the constant death of innocent civilians. To add fuel to the

fire, a guest delegate representing Yemen entered committee and condemned the acts of USA and

Saudi - voicing the opinions of the thousands of unheard Yemenis. The first day came to an end with

discussing possible solutions to the refugee crisis. Every delegate proposed solutions depending on

their countries’ abilities and willingness.

The second day took off by discussing the threats imposed by the terror groups residing within

Yemen. The delegate of Russia continued to back its country’s foreign policy. The delegate reiterated

that they would continue to send arms and ammunitions to the Houthis. The delegate of Saudi Arabia

grabbed the chance to oppose Russia; he spoke about the major terror groups residing in the south

and how funding the Houthis, who stay in the north, will not eradicate terror.

The third crisis was tossed at the committee a few minutes into the fourth committee session. It was

found that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was funding terrorist groups in Yemen. The entire committee

went against the delegate of Saudi Arabia after the crisis. Surprisingly, the delegate of Saudi deftly

tried to justify the act by saying they funded the terror groups to “increase power in the South”. With

the conclusion of this committee session, all delegates realized that there should be a new

government that remains unbiased in Yemen. The urgency of redevelopment of Yemen’s economy

and the need to maximise aid towards food and health was dealt with in their working papers and

resolutions.

MYP PRESS RELEASE FOR RMUN 2019

A word from the Chair –

UNSC was very enthusiastic throughout the two days. We had four crises in our committee and I personally thought that it will be very difficult for the committee to handle them. However Saudi Arabia, USA and Russia handled their crisis very well which I was very impressed by. The delegates not only met my expectations but also crossed it to a very great extent. I’m very happy to be a part of this committee. Usually in UNSC it is very difficult for resolutions to pass. However our resolution passed quite easily and it was honestly a great resolution, that is probably why it passed. Dhrruv Dedhia, Chair of UNSC

Your true colors have been revealed. The lid is off the pan. That too, the delegate of Saudi Arabia is shameless.” - The delegate of Russia, Pranay Duggal
