SDA Bocconi MCF students are offered the opportunity to complete their education and obtain a double degree by joining Fordham University’s GBA Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF). MCF candidates admitted to the International Collaborative Program will receive both Masters' degrees, joining the alumni networks of Fordham University and their partners, as well as becoming part of the Bocconi Alumni Association.MCF participants admitted to the Program will spend the month of July in New York: to obtain the MSGF title, they will have to take three intensive-format courses. Graduation will occur at the beginning of August .

MSGF students will acquire the ability to implement corporate goals through financial strategies that use the opportunities available in today’s global financial markets. The MCF - MSGF Collaborative Program is comprised of 30 credits (10 courses) delivered at both SDA Bocconi in Milano and Fordham GBA in New York City.

To me, the MCF was an incredible experience: in just one year time it gives you the broadest understanding of the complex world called Finance. I was able to completely switch career, as I came from a totally different background. I earned a Master double-degree from two world famous Institutions, experiencing Finance in a truly multicultural environment. This helped me also to pass the CFA Level I exam in a very short time.

MCF MUMBAI TRACKLEADING IN EMERGING FINANCIAL MARKETS - LEFM (JULY)

Today’s financial managers require more than financial expertise; they need to understand both finance and strategy to stay ahead in today’s globalized world as well as the challenges that businesses face in the constantly evolving global economy.

With this aim, MISB Bocconi has created a LEADING IN EMERGING FINANCIAL MARKETS TRACK within SDA Bocconi MCF, which combines finance and strategy with leadership & communication skills to help the participants make better strategic & financial decisions and develop an effective leadership style to lead organizations in future. It is important for them to understand how financial markets function in developing nations like India.

MCF participants admitted to this track will spend one week in July 2019 in Mumbai. Students will undergo a cultural and learning experience via company visits, classroom lectures, meetings with leaders and networking opportunities. The learning process during the track is based on interactive lectures, class participation, case discussion, readings, exercises, role plays, presentations and feedback from faculty and peers.

PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT SIMULATION

The financial crisis taught us a harsh lesson: underestimating or even ignoring risk leads to a certainty of future troubles, no matter how long they take to show up. On the other hand, every one of us looks at risk in a very personal way. That is why the Master in Corporate Finance runs the Portfolio Management Simulation, a special project that requires its students to think, act and behave like asset managers. The rationale of the project is that getting better in investing also means getting to know our investing selves better.

FINANCIAL DATABASES

The Financial Databases Course provides you with training on the Bloomberg, edited by the leading financial information provider Bloomberg LP.You will become highly skilled in using this database. Under conditions set by Bloomberg LP itself, class members can also undergo the Bloomberg Program Certification routine.

As a Master in Corporate Finance candidate, I took the Financial Databases classes, and I got to know how to use the Bloomberg service. Thanks to the literacy in using the Bloomberg, I had a great advantage during the company screening process. Therefore, I definitely encourage students to grasp the opportunity of learning how to use the Bloomberg!

Working hard and achieving high results becomes everyday routi-ne during MCF. Doing this with diversified people and mindsets adds special flavor. Our hard work gave immediate results - after a few months of my internship I was offered a full-time position. Being an MCF Alumnus is something that will stamp you for good and will follow you throughout your career. All that in a city like Milano is truly an empowering experience.
