Sandwell – 2 Years ago….• Most deprived West Midlands borough
– Household Incomes less than £25,000– All 24 wards are in worst 40% in England– 11% of the population had never worked– 27% of workforce adults with no qualifications– 46% have qualifications lower than Level 2

• Rising residential population
• Inward migration including young families
• Housing renewal major investment
