1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NASB)16 Rejoice always;17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is

God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

How to Be Thankful in All Things!1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Be JoyfulWhy? Because God is sovereign and in

control! Because God’s love for us is perfect! Because God wants what is best for us! Because God is worthy of our praise!

How? By loving God! By loving His Word – John 15:9-13!

John 15:9-13 (NASB)9 Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also

loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide

in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

11 These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

13 Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Be PrayerfulWhy? It is God’s will for us! It orients our mind and heart toward God! We have access at all times – Heb. 10:19-22!


Hebrews 10:19-22 (NASB)19 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence

to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated

for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the

house of God, 22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full

assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Be PrayerfulWhy? It is God’s will for us! It orients our mind and heart toward God! We have access at all times – Heb. 10:19-22!

How? Without ceasing! With acceptance in all things!


Be ThankfulWhy? Because Jesus is our example! Because it is God’s will! Because of what God has done for us! Because it is a product of Joy and Prayer!

How? In everything – being or remaining within We should be being or remaining within an

attitude of gratitude as believers.
