Environmental Actions
for Sustainable Development
Adopted in the second half of 2003
The aim:
“The integration of environemntal items into different policies”
In 2004 it was selected as a
best practice
to participate to
GreenWeek Event
Axis I concerns the integration of environmental concerns in all
the main economic sectors of the Region:- Industry;- Agriculture;- Craft;- Tourism
The Asso Programme is divided into four Axes
Axis II
This section supports Plans for the sustainable development of some environmetally critical areas
Axis III
This Axis finances few pilot projects aimed to pursue an environmental sustainable development
Axis IV
This section concerns general actions for the implementation of the whole Programme
Total cost of the Programme: € 1,320,000.00
Budget (2003)
Axis I € 540,000.00
Axis II € 600,000.00
Axis III € 155,000.00
Axis IV € 25,000.00
Funding sources: National and Regional Funds
The four actions of the Axis I:
• Integration between Industry and Environment;• Integration between Craft and Environment;• Integration between Tourism and Environment;• Integration between Agriculture and Environment
Action a) Industry/Environment
• Implementation of
Environmental Management Systems within SMEs
• The projects were selected by a call
• Eligible territory: out of Objective 2
Results:
16 projects have been co-financed to set up EMSs and to achieve the certification or registration according to the UNI ISO 14001 and EMAS Regulation
Total current co-financing: € 165.000,00
Action b) Craft/Environment
The main aim: to set up some environmental consultancy services in order to improve the integration of environmental concerns into the craft sector
The instrument: a Voluntary Agreement between the Marche Region and some Trade Unions of the craft sector
Environmental consultancy aimed to:
- The adoption of lower environmental impact productive processes;
- The realization of products with a lower environmental impact;
- The implementation of EMSs within the craft sector
Expected results:
- The opening of 12 “environmental info point”;
- The onset of procedures for the EMAS registration of a craft district area.
Current budget: € 172.000,00 (€ 86.000,00 regional funds contribution)
Action c) Tourism/Environment
The aim:
to improve regional tourist offer, directing it towards actions and forms with a lower
environmental impact, and reducing the use of resources
Action c) is divided into two measures
Measure 1:
Design for the environmental enhancement of an area with high tourist concentration
Measure 2:
Projects for the eco-efficiency of tourist accommodation
Action c) budget: € 165,000.00
Measure 1: € 100,000.00
Measure 2: € 65,000.00
Measure 1 - Main results :
- Initial analysis of environmental weakness and performances of an area belonging to a Local Tourist System;- Drafting two definitive projects concerning intervention stressed by the environmental analysis (moving some campings from the coastline; planning a sustainable transport plan).
Measure 2 - Main results
• The analysis of the environmental performances of 4 tourist firms;
• The adoption of working plans of the interventions that the environemntal analysis showed as priorities, aimed to the adoption of EMSs
Action d) Agriculture/Environment
This action co-finances projects that merge agriculture and environment by means of renawable energy sources: woodchips

and buffer strips

Axis II
Local Plans for Sustainable Devolopment of special areas
(environmental problems, settlement congestion,
sometimes related to crisis in some productive sector or district)
3 projects were co-financed
Each of them was co-financed by Marche Region with a sum of € 150,000.00
