Before You Start

Here’s what you MUST KNOW before you start the installation of the SAP Simple Finance add-on:

1 The add-on replaces the classical ERP Financials in your ERP installation. Slide #7-8

2 Not all ERP add-ons can be combined with the SAP Simple Finance add-on as of today.

For industry solutions certain restrictions apply. Check the prerequisites for installing the

add-on in regards to your current and to your targeted software stack.

4 The add-on requires a migration of application data, involving mandatory steps to be

done before the add-on is being installed. Running this migration requires finance

application knowledge.

the newest SUM version from SMP. Afterwards 2 SAP HANA Live packages need to be

installed using HANA Lifecycle Manager (HLM).

Which other SAP ERP 6.0 software components need to be updated to EHP 7 during the installation

of the SAP Simple Finance add-on?

All of those software component versions are included in the Instance / Technical Usage

Applications for FIN 700, which was introduced with EHP 7 for SAP ERP 6.0:

During the stack-xml calculation using MOPZ, select this instance for EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 and in

addition the add-on. MOPZ can automatically check for additional components required in your

individual case and point to conflicts with components / add-ons not yet supported by the

SAP Simple Finance Add-on 1.0 Installation Hints

• Software Update Manager (SUM) is to be used to install the add-on – download

latest version from SMP.

• The add-on cannot be installed using SAINT. Whereas later support package updates can

be done using SPAM.

• Read the latest version of the Release Information Note #1925902 before you start. Known problems with SP Stack 3, that occur during the add-on installation w/ SUM (as of 2014-10-16):

• Prerequisites to the underlying ABAP stack (SAP Enhancement Package 7 for SAP ERP

6.0, SAP Netweaver 7.40) are included automatically during stack-xml calculation with

MOPZ. To check prerequisites in advance, read SAP Note #1968568.

• Combining correct support package stacks of the SAP Simple Finance add-on, SAP ERP

and SAP NetWeaver is key. Other combinations will not work.

• During the installation, the SAP Simple Finance add-on data model is applied to the system

and database tables are replaced with DDL SQL views* with the same technical names.

*) a new type of views offered by the ABAP AS, that are defined using ABAP for Eclipse ► generated into DDIC and HANA

SAP HANA Live for the SAP Simple Finance Add-On 1.0 Installation Hints

• The installation of the SAP HANA Live 1.0 product is not automatically

included during the installation of SAP Simple Finance add-on using SUM.

• The installation procedure for the SAP HANA Live integrated scenario is less effort

compared to a side-by-side installation. In the integrated scenario, you do not need to

create and replicate the database tables as they are already available in the SAP HANA

database. They are maintained through the data dictionary of the corresponding ABAP

application server. Therefore, table creation and data replication are not relevant.

• Use SAP HANA Lifecycle Manager to install the 2 mandatory HANA Live content

packages:

• Install the SAP ECC package (HCO_HBA_ECC 100) first. Due to the differences in the accounting

data model of SAP ERP and the SAP Simple Finance add-on, content activation errors do occur.

Follow the instructions provided in SAP Note 1967187 to complete the installation.

• Install the HANA Live package for the SAP Simple Finance add-on (HCO_HBA_SFIN700 100)

second.

• Since the ABAP server creates all tables in one specific database catalog schema (typically

<SAPSID>), this needs to be mapped to the authoring schema of the imported content

packages.


User Interfaces Installation Hints

• The add-on uses Web Dynpro for ABAP applications, which have 2 important

prerequisites

• Used web browsers run in HTML standards-compatible mode

• * Usage of a UI shell, that supports Object Based Navigation (OBN) (like the NWBC 4.0 desktop

version)

• Read SAP notes #1753544 and #1971111 for information on browser requirements of

the SAP Simple Finance add-on 1.0

• Web Dynpro ABAP applications can be called only after activating the related ICF

services. Refer to SAP note #1974650 for the list of applications.

• Front-end components of SAP Fiori and SAP Smart Business apps are delivered with

separate add-on products (refer to http://help.sap.com/fiori)

• Some transaction codes and reports known from classical ERP Financials are not available

in the add-on. Refer to SAP note #1946054 for a comparison of old and new transaction

codes and reports. Roles and authorizations (S_TCODE) need to be adjusted.

• As of now you need ABAP for Eclipse to maintain DDL views (in case requested in a SAP

correction note). For installation details refer to http://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#abap
