Special Technical Services LLC (STS), headquartered in The Sultanate of Oman, is a leading

multidisciplinary contracting group specializing in Construction, Fabrication and Maintenance

services for the Energy and Industrial sectors.

STS was established in 1980 as a member of The Oman Oilfield Supply Centre L.L.C. (OOSC)

group of companies, a leading Omani Conglomerate, to provide specialist oil & gas field

maintenance services.

Today, we operate across the MENA region and undertake a diverse portfolio of projects in

several areas of the Oil & Gas Industry such as Field Development, Enhanced Oil Recovery

(EOR), Gas Treatment and Compression, Refineries, Petrochemicals, Tank Farms, Pipelines,

Flowlines, Onplot and Offplot Facilities for the leading Oil & Gas companies. Our in-house

capabilities encompass Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines with

dedicated teams serving each of these discipline areas.

STS operates two specialized fabrication workshops in Oman, located at Nizwa and Sohar industrial

zones covering a total area of 125,700 sqm.

Our workshops are well equipped with state-of-the-art fabrication & welding machinery and material

handling equipment. Workshop facilities include heavy fabrication bays, vessel fabrication shops,

machine shops, areas dedicated to exotic materials welding and aluminium welding.

We have covered fabrication areas in excess of 24,500 sqm. with effective fabrication height of max.

10.5 m under hook and single lift crane capacity of 100 tons. This includes a 3,000 sqm. of covered

maintenance shop to cater to pump maintenance, machining and valve repair and testing.

Our operations are certified to EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality management system and shops are

approved by Petroleum Development Oman and other major Oil & Gas , Refinery & Petrochemical

companies across GCC.

STS forte is Plant Maintenance, Turnaround and Shutdown across petrochemical plants

and refineries. Since inception, STS has been providing maintenance services to the

oilfield operators in Oman and carried out successful preventive and breakdown

maintenance campaigns on static and rotating equipment. Our maintenance capabilities

extend to mechanical, instrumentation and electrical disciplines.

Our mission is to provide a quality service that reduces equipment down time, product

deferment and the operating lifetime costs of equipment.

Maintenance

STS started its Turnaround and Shutdown operations in 2007 with the Mina Al Fahal

Refinery Turnaround for ORPIC and has since then continued to strive for excellence in this

arena and has established a core management team to execute such projects. STS has

invested in modern equipment like IBC/OBC (automatic bundle cleaners), hydro jetting

machines, torquing and tensioning tools, retubing tools, bundle pullers to name a few in

order to offer the most efficient services to our clients.

STS is a pioneer in oilfield maintenance and was the first Omani Company to be awarded ISO 9002 certification for maintenance of surface and subsurface oilfield equipment. We provide a range of customized services such as maintenance of critical equipment in remote locations, developing maintenancestrategies incorporating RCM, IPF and condition monitoring.

STS workshop in Nizwa and Sohar are fully accredited by

AIB-Vincotte International with EN ISO 9001-2008 Quality

Systems. Our Nizwa workshop is API 6A accredited for well

head equipment and Christmas Tree and API 6D accredited

for pipeline valves. We have a dedicated covered area of

3000 sqm. for maintenance activities in Nizwa and offer

mobile services for adhoc maintenance activities in the

Sohar Industrial zone.

Our Nizwa maintenance workshop is equipped with

advanced machinery viz., Modern Heavy Duty Lathes,

Universal Milling Machine, Heavy Duty Radial Drilling

Machines and Advance Dynamic Balancing Machine. In

addition, the workshop has a calibration and testing shop

including Test Bench for Isolation Valves & Test Bench for

Relief Valves of any size and large storage, assembly and lay

Aluminium Fabrication & Maintenance Services

MASCO

Majan Aluminium Services L.L.C (MASCO), now a wholly owned subsidiary of STS was incorporated

in Oman in the year 2005 as a Joint Venture with Austin Engineering of Australia.

Today, MASCO is delivering services to the expanding Gulf Aluminium Smelting market specifically

in the fields of:

• Potroom Aluminium busbar fabrication and installation including risers and anode beams

• Anode stem fabrication and refurbishment

• Site installation, live busbar repair procedures and commissioning assistance of busbar systems

MASCO is an ISO 9001: 2008 company and has achieved the Intellectual Property Protection IPP

accreditation to meet client specific requirements.

MASCO's manufacturing facility is based at STS’ 26,000 sqm. workshop in Sohar and is ideally placed

approximately 2 kms. from Sohar port to serve the global aluminium industry.

Advantages of Tite Liner vs Loose Liner: lower material cost, greater resistance to collapse,

higher performance with less liner movement due to expansion and contraction with

We monitor the Quality Management System and Product quality performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and improve the efficiency & effectiveness of our processes by taking timelycorrective/preventive measures. STS has been instrumental in setting the highest safety standards in work-at-height

activities. We are the only contracting company in Oman approved by the

Construction Industry Technical Board (CITB) for imparting training in accordance

with the CITB standards.

Our Road Safety Improvement Team (RSIT) works closely with the drivers and helps

them adopt defensive driving principles as a way of life. The In Vehicle Monitoring

System (IVMS) team is prompt in tracking driver violations real-time and helps

intervene before any mishap takes place.

We have introduced a number of HSE initiatives aimed at increasing management

involvement, employee awareness and understanding of hazards in the workplace.

The initiatives listed are now embedded within our HSE management system.
