1 Step: Pre-Enrollment

First you log in with your user name (you received in your “Self-Registration-email”) and your

password in unisono. Then click “Pre-Enrollment” button to continue.

Enabling of Email notifications is recommended to receive updates about your enrollment status.

Click “Add an application” to continue your registration.

For students of the following English taught Master’s programs:

Chemistry

Computer Science

Economic Policy

Human Computer Interaction

Mechatronics

Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies

Physics

Roads to Democracies

or any other German taught Master´s program, please select degree =“Master” from the combo-box

In order to enroll for the German course, please select degree = “German Course (DSH preparation)”

In order to study any Bachelor’s program, please select degree = “Bachelor”

After completing this selection of combo-boxes, click “next” and check the confirmation for correct

data before clicking the button “Submit application”.

To continue pre-enrollment confirm or complement your personal data and address.

Next step is to add your educational background. Start with your University Entrance Qualification

(secondary school leaving certificate, e.g. high school diploma, or university entrance examination,

e.g. ÖSYM). If you select “general qualification for university abroad”, no results have to be typed in

but the exact date of the exam or the issue of the diploma.

Regarding your Academic History, please note: Leave “Information about previous studies in

Germany” empty if you never studied in Germany before. Proceed in the same way with “Previous

stay abroad” if you never left your home university as an exchange student abroad.

If at some time you started your studies or graduated at any other university than University of

Siegen, and if you are not an exchange student (e.g. Erasmus program), please enter the relevant

data in “Studies Prior to the Semester of Application” and “Previously Earned Degrees and

Awards”. For “Intended Degree”, please select “Abschlussprüfung im Ausland”. For “Form of

Studies”, please select “First Enrollment”.

In case you already graduated (mandatory in Master’s Programs and Doctoral Studies (PhD)), enter

data in “Previously Earned Degrees and Awards”. In case you graduated abroad, please select the

German expression “Abschlussprüf. im Ausland” as degree, which means that you earned your

degree abroad. In case that you graduated at a German university, please select the precise German

degree. Please indicate the date of graduation (date of the final exam or issue of diploma document)

and the status “passed” or “irrevocably failed”. Enter the grade of your degree only if it was earned

at a German university (German grade scale). Please select as “Type of Study” the German

expression “Präsenzstudium Ausland”, which means program of study with mandatory attendance.

Complete this process by clicking “next” button.

“Health insurance” must be completed only if you are already residing in Germany. Otherwise, if you

are living abroad (online semester due to corona-crisis) or you register for the German course (DSH

preparation), select “exempted”.

After confirming “home country”, the following screen will be displayed. Follow the instructions

systematically. Continue by clicking “Complete enrollment and go back to overview”.

Finally, print out registration form (not control sheet!) and sign it. Then scan and save it as a PDF file

to use for upcoming upload. Now pre-enrollment is successfully completed.

2 Step: Online-Enrollment

Please enroll online for the following English taught Master´s programs and the full-time German

language course (DSH Preparation):

• Chemistry

• Computer Science

• Economic Policy

• Human Computer Interaction

• Mechatronics

• Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies

• Roads to Democracies

• German language course (DSH preparation)

After completing all previous steps of registration and pre-enrollment, the upload function will be

enabled. To upload the required documents click the following instructions of section “Request for

enrollment”. The required documents are:

Letter of Admission

Copy of passport

Proof of Financing form (Print it out and sign it before scanning. Download the Proof of

Financing form here)

Registration form (print it out from unison and sign before scanning and uploading it)

University Entrance Qualification (secondary school leaving certificate e.g. high school

diploma or university entrance examination e.g. ÖSYM)

Bachelor´s Degree certificate

German exmatriculation certificate (only for students who studied in Germany before) and

clearance certificate (only for students who studied in Germany before without successfully

completing their degree program)

Confirmation of private/public German health insurance (only for students currently living in

Germany)

After selecting these files from your local hard-disk click “upload”. Leave all categories empty which

are not applicable or click trashcan symbol to delete these categories.

Finally, after uploading all required documents click checkbox “I hereby confirm that I have

uploaded all documents or files”. Then press “save” –button to complete your enrollment. We will

contact you later via email to confirm your enrollment and issue your matriculation number.
