FRAGRANTPATCHWORKSew a patchwork heart and fill itw,jth lavend~r.

You will need> remnants' of pr. 'oted cotton fabric> heart template on page 124> white sewing thread> piece of lace trim for loop> dried lavender

To makeTrace the template and enlarge it to therequired size. Make a piece of patchworkusing remnants of fabric with differentprints. The heart is quite small so ifs best .to use delicate prints. The patchworkmust be large enough for the front andback to be cut from the jemplote, plusseam allowances. Use small pieces offabric for the patches and join them atrandom. Sew the pieces together' withright sides facing, using small neat back-stitches. Place the back and front piecesof the heart with right sides facing andsew around the outer edges. leave anopening through which you can ~" the_heort with lavender. Turn through to theright side. Work small running stitchesalong the top of the seams on the rightside of the fabric for added detail. Fillwith lavender and sew a lace loop in ,the centre of the top of the heart for itte hang from, before closing the seam.Close the opening.
