THE OBJECTIVE IS TO SUPPORT:• R&D activities funded by the GSA
(ADVISORY EXPERT GROUPS AND TECHNICAL REVIEW OF PROJECTS)• Scientific and technical international cooperation
(DEMONSTRATIONS AND TARGETED TECHNICAL STUDIES)
4 DEMONSTRATIONS IN LATIN AMERICA:• "COCESNA CORRIDOR" (05/2007 – 04/2008 ; COCESNA) :
Simulation of how Galileo will help to improve navigation services and increase capacity for Civil Aviation
• "RAIL TRAFFIC MONITORING IN BRAZIL"
• “VALUABLE GOOD TRACKING”
• “PRECISION FARMING”
OBJECTIVES:• Boost the GNSS application market in the area in order to
support the GNSS Regional Plans
APPROACH:• Support the integration of Galileo in the regional plans
through the study of Galileo integrity scenario• Analyze the necessary steps for the migration of current GPS
based applications, to Galileo and SBAS based application
DEMONSTRATIONS based on real EGNOS/Galileo-like signal starting from March to June of 2009:
• DANGEROUS GOODS TRANSPORTATION• OFF-SHORE FLOATING PLATFORM POSITIONING• EMERGENCY SERVICES• MARITIME
CELESTE Application Market Assessment & Demos
12
OBJECTIVE: • To support real-time on-the-field
demonstrations showing EGNOS & Galileo added-value and to promote application development
APPROACH• Implementation of a infrastructure
broadcasting SBAS-like signal
ACTUAL STATUS: • DEPLOYMENT OF 6 STATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE• 2 RIMS ON-LINE + 3 RIMS UNDER IMPLEMENTATION
PROCESS• MARCH 2009: SYSTEM AVAILABLE
fLAre Prototype System in support to demos

OBJECTIVES• Create the first Galileo Centre of Expertise in Argentina• Provide the American Latin region with the necessary
means to foster the GNSS local industry and the Galileo based applications development in the region
• 7th FP Activity starting in March 2009 for 15 months
APPROACH• Identify the regional needs related to GNSS in Argentina• Define the implementation steps for the completion of a Centre which supports the regional industry in the R&D process• Define the technical means for the development and testing of GNSS technology and applications
