Questions?Questions?A black basalt slab, the Rosetta Stone dates back to 196 B.C. The stone was discovered in 1799 by a soldier in Napoleon's army near the town of Rosette Egypt. It is inscribed with the same message in three languages. Scholars were able to use the Greek message to translate the two forms of Egyptian hieroglyphics.
