Implement the Unique Places model ofTown Centre Management in theborough’s principal town centres.

The ‘Unique Places’ model of Town Centre Management continues to be implemented inthe five principal towns of Caerphilly, Blackwood, Bargoed, Risca and Ystrad Mynach.During the course of 2014 three additional pieces of work were completed by the TownCentre Management Team:1. ‘Choose the High Street’ campaign was successfully launched in summer and utiliseda range of marketing platforms to encourage people to use the town centres and forbusinesses to locate in them.2. A ‘Pop Up Shop Guide’ was published in both a paper and electronic format. This hasdrawn interest from people across the County Borough who are interested in theconcept.3. ‘Choose the High Street @ Christmas’ Voucher Booklet attracted 90 offers formretailer in the five town centres - the highest number to date. The new booklet format waswell received by retailers and the public alike.

At the end of 2014/15 (March '15) occupancy of the industrial portfolio is slightly down ontarget. The office portfolio and accommodation is proving challenging with the amount ofcompetitive space on the market.Currently, the occupancy levels are ~ 100% Pavilions, 98% Industrial Units and 77%Business Centres.

However, Phillipstown was put on a reserve list. In Septemberlast year we were informed that Phillipstown had been given approval to proceed withPhillipstown although the bid was reduced from 445 properties to approximately 317.The main measure being external wall insulation, works are progressing on site and iscurrently around 70% complete. This project is for private and council houses. This wasthe last bidding round of Arbed 2.

This project is for private and council houses. This wasthe last bidding round of Arbed 2.

The ‘Unique Places’ model of Town Centre Management continues to be implemented inthe five principal towns of Caerphilly, Blackwood, Bargoed, Risca and Ystrad Mynach.During the course of 2014 three additional pieces of work were completed by the TownCentre Management Team:1. ‘Choose the High Street’ campaign was successfully launched in summer and utiliseda range of marketing platforms to encourage people to use the town centres and forbusinesses to locate in them.2. A ‘Pop Up Shop Guide’ was published in both a paper and electronic format. This hasdrawn interest from people across the County Borough who are interested in theconcept.3. ‘Choose the High Street @ Christmas’ Voucher Booklet attracted 90 offers formretailer in the five town centres - the highest number to date. The new booklet format waswell received by retailers and the public alike.

At the end of 2014/15 (March '15) occupancy of the industrial portfolio is slightly down ontarget. Our work programme in Fochriw was predominently completed by the year end of2013/14.In 14/15 we put an Arbed bid in for Phillipstown and Senghenydd. Our bids wereoriginally unsuccessful. However, Phillipstown was put on a reserve list. In Septemberlast year we were informed that Phillipstown had been given approval to proceed withPhillipstown although the bid was reduced from 445 properties to approximately 317.The main measure being external wall insulation, works are progressing on site and iscurrently around 70% complete. This project is for private and council houses. This wasthe last bidding round of Arbed 2.
