Conclusions

• Two (2) CIA’s took 3-4 months to process

• In one case, CIA was not needed at all.

• Another LDC recently waived need for CIA for a 250 kWe system on a 27.6 kV 3 phase feeder in Southwestern Ontario.

• Each LDC liked our proposed protection and control system (based on SEL-451).

• In each case, we had/have to demonstrate that we are off-line in <160 ms (in event of abnormal conditions on LDC feeder).
