1 John 2:18-29

18Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[a] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. AntiChrist- ( 2 John 1:7) one who denies or opposes Christ; specifically : a great (Adversary/ opponent) antagonist expected to fill the world with wickedness but to be conquered forever by Christ at his second coming : a false Christ (Matthew 24:24) Elect- chosen for salvation(Deut. 13:13) corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed(to attract (someone) especially by offering or showing something that is appealing, interesting, etc) the (people from their city to serve other gods)Ex. Satan can tempt you buy bringing someone from your old past in a hardship to offer you something. When youre ready to give up. A drug dealer.

20But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.[b] Anointing- to put oil on (someone) as part of a religious ceremony, to officially or formally choose (someone) to do or to be something (2 Cor. 1:21) He who anointed us is God. Ex. Calling- God has chosen us to go out and do His will, to preach His word. Some Hes called

21I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.Who is the truth? Jesus Christ. So do you not know Jesus Christ? The two are opposites, so therefore one can not be found in the other.

22Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.(John 5:23)- that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.(John 12:44)- Then Jesus cried out and said, He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.(John 15:23)- He who hates Me hates My Father also.24Therefore let that abide(remain) in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25And this is the promise that He has promised useternal life.(1 John 5:11) 26These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. 27But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will[c] abide in Him.( Ephesians 4:21) ex. We are to be guided by the Holy Spirit.

28And now, little children, abide in Him, that when[d] He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. We should remain in Jesus Christ so when He returns we have are confident we know that we will be lifted up into the wedding. We know that we await His return but are we really ready, is there something in our life that could keep us from leaving with Him. Let us not be ashamed when Jesus Christ comes back. That we thought we were walking right with God and yet we were left behind. Do you want to be left behind? Or are you ready and waiting confidently for His return? (Isaiah 25:9)29If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.( Titus 2:11-13) If we know that He is the Truth, but dont abide in Him, then are we practicing righteousness? James 4:17- Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.( 1 John 3:7, 10)(Acts 22:14-16)God choose you for a purpose. (Jer. 1:5- Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations)

He is warning us about those who are coming to deceive those who are not abiding in Him. We know Hes coming so soon, so we have to evaluate our relationship with Him. Are we obeying His warnings, we see the signs all around us and I believe that He is coming sooo soo soon. Where do we stand, are we going to be deceived or are we confident enough in where we are with God that we know when He returns we will be going with Him.

Or are we going to be left behind, are we not taking heed to His warnings, are we serving Him in spirit and truth. We just read that He is our teacher and will teach us, guide us, mold us, but are again hearing Him.

He has given us an anointing to go out and preach the gospel, preach His return. Are walking righteously so we wont be decived.
