Cutting Directions:Note: All strips are cut across the width of the fabric (perpendicular to the selvages) unless noted otherwise.

A. 23988 O: Panel• Cut panel ¼" beyond printed blue frame. This will be

approximately 34½" x 41".

B. 23990 B: Blue Tossed Minion Print• Cut nine 3½" strips; subcut fifty-two 3 ½" x 6 ½"

rectangles.• Cut one 3½" strip; subcut two 3½" x 5" rectangles; two

2" x 3½" rectangles; four 3½" squares and four 2" squares.

C. 23993 O: Orange Stripe• Cut six 2½" strips for binding.

D. 23995 S: Yellow Tonal Print• Cut four 3" strips.• Cut six 3½" strips; subcut fifty-two 3½" squares and two

3½" x 5" rectangles.

E. 23995 Z: White Tonal Print• Cut five 3½" strips; subcut fifty-two 3½" squares.• Cut one 6½" strip; subcut four 6½" squares. Use

remainder of strip to cut four 2" squares and two 2" x 3½" rectangles.

Construction:

1. Center one (D) 3" strip along one side of the panel. Sew and trim ends even with panel. Press toward the strip. Repeat for other side of panel.

2. Center one (D) 3" strip along the top of the panel. Sew and trim ends even with panel. Press toward the strip. Repeat for bottom of panel. Center panel and trim to 39½" x 45½".

3. Draw a diagonal line on the back side of the (D) 3½". squares.

4. Repeat step 1 using (E) 3½" squares.

5. With right sides together, place one marked (E) square at the left end of a (B) 3½" x 6½" rectangle. Sew on the line and trim seam to ¼". Press seam toward resulting triangle. Repeat to make 26.

6. With right sides together, place one marked (D) square at the right end of the rectangles. Sew on the line and trim seam to ¼". Press seam toward resulting triangle. Repeat to complete 26 [A] units.

7. Use remaining (B) 3½" x 6½" rectangles and remaining (D) and (E) squares to create 26 [B] units by rotating marked squares.

8. Draw a diagonal line on the back side of the (E) 2" squares. With right sides together, place one marked square at one end of a (B) 3½" x 5" rectangle. Sew on line, trim seam to ¼" and press seam toward resulting triangle. Place another marked square in the adjacent corner of the rectangle. Sew, trim and press. Repeat to

make 2.

9. Sew an (E) 2" x 3½" rectangle to the top of each unit from step 8 to complete two [C] units.

10. Draw a diagonal line on the back side of the (B) 2" squares. With right sides together, place one marked square at one end of a (D) 3½" x 5" rectangle. Trim seam to ¼" and press seam toward resulting triangle. Place another marked square in the adjacent corner of the rectangle. Sew, trim and press. Repeat to make 2.

11. Sew a (B) 2" x 3½" rectangle to the top of each unit

from step 10 to complete two [D] units.

12. Draw a diagonal line on the back side of each (B) 3½" square. With right sides together, place a marked square on one corner of an (E) 6½" square. Sew on the line and trim seam to 1/4". Press toward the resulting triangle. Make 4 corner units.

13. Sew seven [A] units, seven [B] units and one [D] unit together to make one side border as shown. Press seams in alternating directions or open. Repeat.

14. Sew six [A] units, six [B] units and one [C] unit together to make one top/bottom border as shown. Press seams in alternating directions or open. Repeat. Sew one corner unit at both ends of each border and press seams toward border.

15. Sew a side border to each side of the framed panel. Press toward the panel.

16. Sew a border to the top and bottom of the panel. Press toward the panel.

Finishing:Prepare backing using two lengths of fabric with a vertical seam. Press.

1. Layer quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt as desired.

2. Trim layers even with quilt top.

3. Prepare binding using (C) 2½" strips. Sew binding to quilt using your preferred method.
