4. Canada’s safety promotion

Training:

Transport Canada has a program for the development and delivery of basic, advanced, and refresher training, including SMS, QA, interview skills and related specialty courses

Communication:

Transport Canada has well-established practices in place for internal and external communication and is developing a policy to formalize this communication

Dissemination of safety information:

Transport Canada has a program in place for safety promotion and awareness. An aviation safety newsletter is published four times a year to promote safety awareness. The newsletter is distributed to employees and industry stakeholders and available on the civil aviation web site. The group also organizations information forums for industry to promote the latest safety advances in aviation.

• Work continue to finalize ICAO’s State Safety Plan requirements

• Canada has main elements of an SSP in place: regulations, standards, guidelines, education to promote a safety and harmonized aviation system
