Irregular Preterit Tense Verbs
Irregulars Certain verbs are irregular in the preterit
(past) tense. You must memorize these verbs and how they conjugate.
You can’t just plug it into the normal formula.

The following verbs have a unique base that must be memorized.
Then, add the correct ending.
Irregulars VERB BASE PLUS ENDING estar > estuv- tener > tuv- venir > vin- poder > pud- saber > sup- poner > pus- querer > quis- andar > anduv- hacer > hic- *Ud. = hizo
