MCA-II Science Directions

Today you will take the MCA-II Science test.

You will take the science test on a computer.

Schedule

Announce test session information:• day(s)• time(s)• number of segments per session

If needed, tell students what to do if they finish testing before the end of the allotted time.

What you need

• pencils• scratch paper• headphones

Put everything away except:

Scratch paper

Write your name on the top of the scratch paper.

You must turn in the scratch paper and student authorization ticket before you leave.

How to log in

Student Authorization Tickets

You will get a Student Authorization Ticket and a piece of scratch paper.

Find your name on the ticket next to Student Name.

If your name is not on the test ticket, please raise your hand.

Type in the Login ID and the Test Code from your ticket.

Click the Login button to start the test.

Look for your name at the top of the screen.

If you don’t see your name, raise your hand.

Be careful! Do not click the in the upper right corner or your test will close and we will need to restart your test.

Begin the test

When you are told to begin, put your headphones on and start the test.

The test will begin with instructions about how to take the test.

Problems during the test

If you have a problem with your computer, raise your hand.

If you feel sick or need to use the restroom, raise your hand.

Only one student at a time may leave the room.

CalculatorsIf an item requires the use of a calculator, the calculator icon will be available. You may use the built-in calculator or you may use your own calculator.

Click the calculator icon to use the built-in calculator.

CalculatorsSometimes when you click on the calculator button, another button will appear.

Click on that button and the calculator will appear.

CalculatorsThe calculator will appear on the screen.

Close the calculator by clicking the close window button.

Review your work

When you finish a section, you may review your work before you continue to the next section.

When you are ready to go to the next section, click the Next Section button.

Click Next if you are told to continue to the next section.

After 2 or 3 sections you will see a screen with a STOP sign.

Turn in scratch paper and student authorization ticket

If you are finished for the day, turn in your student authorization ticket and your scratch paper.

Enter the code and click OK.

If you do not have the code when you see this screen, raise your hand.

When you finish the test, click on the Submit button at the bottom of the screen.
