Budget Request for FY12  

• Presidential Budget Request for Wind is $126,859,000

• Presidential Budget Request for Water is $38,500,000

• Wind and Water budget has grown significantly from FY08– FY08 Wind Budget: $49.5M

– FY08 Water Budget: $10M

• Two new bills could increase MHK and CH funding

• Increased Funding will be used for:– New Initiatives (Offshore Wind, MHK, Conventional Hydropower)

– Continued R&D which is needed for:• Blades – Lighter blades and improved manufacturing processes for longer

blades

• Drive trains – Addressing durability issues.
