    Monthly Health ReportFebruary 15-March 15, 2016

    Health coordinator: Saacha Dorji

    The school health comprises of school health committee and school health club. We jointly work to fulfill anyhealth and hygiene issues in the school and the peripheries. The school health committee of 2016 is:

    Each month, I, as a coordinator would like to publish and send Monthly Health Report in the school.

    The purpose of these reports is to inform about the health status in school. The Monthly Health Reports will bewritten very brief with pictorial description. The Monthly Health Reports can be also read from my blog page:

    1. School Health Coordination Meeting : On 17 th February 2016, we had school health coordination meet-ing. It was attended by Health committee of the school. We jointly discussed and prepared the schoolaction plan for the year. We talked over every detail of the action plan. We decided to focus more ontoilets this year. We decided to ask students to bring a toilet paper, soap, and a jerry can for cleaning thetoilet. Below are some pictures that we did in our first coordination meeting:

    2. Allocating toilets to different classes : On 20th

    February 2016, I, with the help of school health captains,allocated different toilets to different classes. This is to clean the toilet effectively and become respon-sible. Here are some pictures of my health captain allocating classes:

    5. Advocating through massages: On 26 th and 27 th February, we pasted some important messages on thewalls of toilets and other places. My health committee members and health captains helped me to putup on the walls. To propagate the ideas of the proper usage of toilets, charts carrying relevant messageswere displayed on the strategic points in the school premises. Though this propaganda initially is beingdone on the chart papers, we have plan to exhibit such messages on the walls as permanent inscription.

    We also displayed old posters and messages on the walls of the school. We will keep on doing more asdays go by.

    6. Clean Toilets: Every day, the morning TOD, health coordinator and health captains will supervise toiletcleaning. We are really committed to keep the toilet clean. We have plans to keep flower pots insideand outside of the toilets. We have plans to repair toilet doors which are missing.

    7. Medical Requisition: The school made medical and non-medical requisition to the Darla BHU. Wedidn’t receive most of the materials. We even didn’t get iron tablets. The HA wrote, things will be sup-

    plied when the stock come.

    8. Health Proposal: In consultation with the health committee, I made a proposal to buy materials forhealth. In order to execute the plan effectively, we proposed many health improvement things which arerequired immediately.

    9. Prepare a Healthy Health Room: The health room was messy in the beginning. With the help fromhealth captains and health member teachers, we cleaned and made presentable one. We also preparedresting bed for sick students. There was no sign for health room. I created temporary health sign board.

    10. Gave De-worming tablets: On 26 th February we gave de worming tablets to all students. This is giventwice in a year. The class teacher filled up the form for deworming. The picture below shows studentsreceiving tablets. And every class fills up the form.

    11. Kept Soaps and Toilet papers: The health club worked together to keep a soap inside the net-likeclothes, and then we hung nearby water taps, water drums, inside the toilets and outside the toilets. Wealso kept toilet papers inside the toilets of girls and boys. We also ask them to keep toilet papers insidethe classroom. This work will be looked after by health club members. We also told them in the assem-

    bly that they must make proper use of provided things. And it’s for their own good. The photos belowshow toilet paper inside the toilet, and ours girls hanging soap to the taps.

    These are some healthy activities we did this month (Feb 15-March 15), and we will continuously try to carry out and

    try to bring new changes in the school for betterment of our students and the society at large.
