12:30-1:30 p.m. WORKSHOP #1: UBM • Craig Simms, BSc, COMT, CDOS, ROUB (Room C408)This course will allow attendees an opportunity to perform a UBM exam. The basics of the exam will be covered, along with scanning techniques and tips for getting better images. Normal anatomy of the anterior segment imaged with UBM will be highlighted.

WORKSHOP #1: CIRRUS OCT • Mike Ketner (Room C403)This course will discuss clinical application of Cirrus OCT. It will cover the operation of the instrument and how to read the most common analysis options. The course will discuss the basic operation of the instrument and troubleshooting difficult cases and situations.

Specialty software provides 3D visualization of the extra ocular movements, the layers of the eye, pupillary anatomy and function, and the visual pathways to help understand visual field.

It will cover the operation of the instrument, the measurements that are obtained including axial length, K-readings, anterior chamber depth, and white-to-white measurements. 8:00-8:50 a.m. TRAINING, TIPS, AND TWO-STEPS TO SCLERAL CONTACT LENS WEAR • Eric Kawulok, ODAfter a brief definition and overview of scleral lenses, attendees will learn different methods to apply and remove scleral lenses. Contact lens saline for application of scleral lenses will be presented, including FDA approved solutions currently out in the market. Solutions for proper cleaning and disinfection will be discussed for scleral lenses of all sizes.

8:50-9:40 a.m. CURRENT TECHNIQUES IN LAMELLAR KERATOPLASTY • Joanne Shen, MDIn the past 10 years, treatments for lamellar keratoplasty have evolved. We will discuss the types of lamellar keratoplasty, the indications, and contraindications. Operative techniques will be illustrated with case examples and video.

9:55-10:45 a.m. NOBODY KNOWS HOW DRY I AM • James B. Mowbray, ODAn introduction in how to subjectively and objectively identify patients at risk of Ocular Surface Disease.

10:45-11:35 a.m. RETINAL IMAGING • Odette Houghton, MD In this course, various retinal imaging modalities including OCT, wide field photography, and more will be discussed. Common artifacts of OCT and suggested methods to avoid these artifacts will also be discussed.

11:35 a.m.-12:40 p.m. LUNCH

12:40-1:30 p.m. YOU HAVE SOME NERVE ASKING ME TO WORK UP THAT PATIENT! WHAT I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE NEURO-OPHTHALMIC PATIENT • Marie Acierno, MD This course will cover basic neuro-ophthalmic examination principles to include history taking, vision assessment, color vision, amsler grid, stereoacuity, ocular motility, visual fields, and pupils. Case presentations and discussion on how to manage your neuro-ophthalmic patients with optic neuritis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension and giant cell arteritis will also be included.

1:30-2:20 p.m. ANGIOGRAPHY • Mandi Conway, MD, FACSThis course will cover traditional fluorescein angiography including definitions and examples of hyper- and hypo-fluorescence. Indications, contraindications, and potential side effects of the dye injection will be covered. OCT Angiography is also included. Examples of retinal pathology imaged with fluorescein and OCT angiography will be presented.

2:35-3:25 p.m. EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT OF EYELID MALPOSITIONS AND LESIONS • Ali Ghafouri, MD, FACS Common eyelid malpositions such as entropion, ectropion, lid retraction, ptosis, and more will be discussed. Benign and malignant periocular lesions will be presented as well as surgical management of the above conditions.

3:25-4:15 p.m. REFRACTOMETRY • Craig Simms, BSc, COMT, CDOS, ROUB This course will cover plus cylinder retinoscopy and refractometry. The optics behind the principles of plus cylinder retinoscopy will be covered followed by graphical examples of the procedures. The course will then move to the refinement part of the process showing methods utilizing the Jackson cross cylinder. The course will conclude with completing the refractometry procedure with reading add, balancing techniques, and the duochrome test.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDSAll cancellations and requests for refunds must be received by JCAHPO in writing. A processing fee of $75 is deducted from each cancelled registration to cover a portion of the costs JCAHPO incurs. ATPO Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITSJCAHPO, AOC, OPS, and CA BRN continuing education credits have been approved for this meeting. Continuing education credits earned will be posted on your account at www.jcahpo.org approximately 4-6 weeks after the program for participants who complete evaluation forms.

NOTE: Attendance is monitored for each hour of instruction. Participants absent for more than 15 minutes of any given hour will not receive credit for that hour.
