Why study Engineering?
• Good job prospects - many sectors recruiting strongly, e.g. aerospace, energy supply…..
• Good salaries (typical starting salaries ~£25,000)• Engineering graduates have excellent transferable
skills and many find employment outside engineering.
• Opportunities to travel – many large international employers recruit graduates from Nottingham.

Job satisfaction!
Survey of engineers by DTI/Barclays found:
91% said their jobs were challenging & varied
88% said they could continue to develop their skills
85% “opportunities to reach managerial level”
78% “organisation was progressive & dynamic”
More engineers identified their job with these characteristics than graduates from any other discipline.
