Testimony [marturion] = “a testimony or witness” - A witness can only testify to what he himself has seen, heard, or experienced.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,” (1 Tim 4:1-2 ESV)

“Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.” (1 Tim 4:13 ESV)

Note however, that God’s calling is effectual, in other words, those who are God’s elect will hear those same words as the power of God!Remember, God is glorified when He takes the glove of human frailty, and fills it with the hand of divine power!

Understand that though we need to accurately testify of God’s saving power, it is He who works to change the heart!
