Curriculum Used: We use award winning standards-based curricula including Explode the Code and Study Island. Explode the Code is a research-based phonics program that diagnoses atudents’ learning needs and prescribes lessons to reinforce learning. The lessons address students learning styles: auditory, visual and kinesthetic. Study Island exposes students to standardized tests. Through the TutorWorks program, students become more confident with academic knowledge and their test taking skills. Our incentive program which includes exciting prizes, team competitions and an awards ceremony is designed to motivate the students and recognize achievement.

Demonstrated Effectiveness: TutorWorks has served thousands of students throughout California. Efficacy studies indicate that students who attended TutorWorks every day for at least 10 weeks gained reading proficiency at a rate of least three times that of students from the same schools who did not use the program. TutorWorks was first place among tutoring providers in an independent analysis of student achievement. 63% of our students made 30 points or higher gain on the STAR test.
